This study explores how knowledge ecosystems (KEs) led by a broker (KB) can support the digital transformation of Micro-, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs). By employing an exploratory research design action methodology, paper proposes applies analytical framework to investigate characteristics KEs managed KB as innovation intermediary acting leader KE The case selected uncovers dimensions regional guided hub (DIH) supporting MSMEs towards adoption "Digital Artisan platform" deriving from Industry 4.0 project. findings highlight importance trust, strategic alignment, dynamic capabilities KBs in enhancing MSMEs' journey emphasize location dimension means for providing tailored support. contributes theoretical practical understanding enabling through who are intermediaries covering role leaders ecosystem.

There ambiguity on how influence what factors facilitate or constrain entrepreneurship. We attempt to take stock extant scholarship synthesize studies examining their linkages with sustainability. systematically reviewed 77 articles identified World Science Scopus databases discuss main themes. The content analysis uncovered four key themes: (a) become more sustainable, (b) entrepreneurs, (c) universities, (d) outcomes ecosystems. findings reveal that interactions between different actors, including customers, suppliers, institutions, governments, can result a ecosystem. novelty study arises from integrating sustainability systematic replicable manner. observed heightened attention environmental challenges literature entrepreneurs' expanded roles generating ecological social value. Entrepreneurial ecosystems (EEs) that support entrepreneurship are seen as tightly spatially bound, top-down systems. They exogenous to entrepreneurs but endogenous the jurisdiction's policymakers and other powerful stakeholders. Taking a knowledge spillover theory approach, this paper offers new perspective on these systems better fits globalized, digitalized, increasingly geographically unbounded realities of entrepreneurship. Resources harbor synergies across, not just within, spatial bounds EEs. We describe EEs (UEEs) border-spanning, entrepreneur-centered, hybrid or digital community-centered. These structures in assembling resources across multiple bounded identify four interrelated dimensions UEEs, namely, provided, inclusiveness, spread activities, governance, show how each varies among The key insight our study is UEEs create conditions where EE becomes entrepreneur. Such shift prompts theoretical questions about entrepreneurial capabilities role policy.

Abstract Most entrepreneurial ecosystem research has focused on the actors and interactions within a focal (often regional) ecosystem. This entails often-implicit assumption that entrepreneurs mainly interact with their own We argue this limits address limitation by exploring question: What influences across boundaries of ecosystems? study how both individual motivations institutional logics influence find to gain access resources, particularly finance, knowledge, customers. Furthermore, we ability engage in cross-entrepreneurial is influenced two logics. Start-up development enable beyond boundaries, as they prompt prioritize growth start-ups.
