A vertical greening system is becoming increasingly crucial in resolving the energy crisis and environmental problems a sustainable ecosystem. Researchers have conducted comprehensive study on systems from technology, functional architectural perspectives. These include ecological, economic social functions. Most of current studies emphasize benefits to environment, while technology its socio-economic receive insufficient attention. This paper studies the implementation of twin transition, i.e., combination digital technologies and European Green Deal goals, to achieve sustainable solutions supporting creation impactful, net-zero carbon a resilient built environment with focus on Northern Europe, specifically Finland. The subject was examined from policies, technology market perspectives. Numerous regulations policies are driving transition since many them include obligatory requirements for member states. While the effects of climate change are already being felt in many parts world, societies compelled to drastically rethink way they produce and manage energy, reduce greenhouse-gases emissions associated sector. Urban areas a critical piece puzzle achieve energy transition reach ambitious targets set out at global European scales. Positive districts (PEDs), new concept introduced 2018 by Strategic Energy Technology Plan, constitute bottom-up response this massive problematic an opportunity accelerate towards low-carbon models cities. However, their deployment is currently facing diverse complex challenges, mainly arising from novelty lack practical experience. In that context, contribution present review literature twofold. Industrial buildings in Italy are currently highly energy intensive. Their old age prevents them from complying with current environmental and requirements; consequently, redevelopment initiatives should therefore be considered order to improve the overall performances of these facilities. Within this framework, research aims evaluate results achievable by introducing indirect green façades as retrofitting solutions. Starting a real case study building located central Italy, simulations were carried out using DesignBuilder, varying buildings’ geometry, dimensions windows-to-wall ratios well greenery coverage percentage. The evidence shows an appreciable potential for walls summer performance industrial buildings, they resulted reduction cooling demand during season about 14%. Moreover, external surface temperature was reduced 8 °C hottest days, ensuring higher durability components. Furthermore, indoor air design week decreased 0.6 °C. During winter season, avoid exploiting free solar gains due incident radiation, slight increase 4% occurred heating needs. For reason, implementation deciduous vegetation species evaluated Mediterranean latitudes.

In the modern urban space, green infrastructures have been gaining increasing relevance due to their positive impacts on sustainability issues, visual appeal, and well-being of individuals. On other hand, environmental has become mandatory in agenda governments organizations. Thus, a systematic analysis efficiency facades roofs spanning key applications, benefits implementation constraints is welcome. this paper, we employed PRISMA method investigate how these matters were addressed recent literature, comprising articles published scientific journals indexed SCOPUS database. Following web search, selection, systematization, that it was revealed mostly associated with energy thermal performance buildings, which brings unequivocal multiple (e.g., consumption savings, mitigation heat island effects) despite some barriers installation maintenance costs). Other discussions about involved valuable roles stormwater management, considering retention capacity, treatment wastewater for reuse non-potable filtering capacity.
