Hydrogen-fuelled technologies for home heating and cooking may provide a low-carbon solution decarbonising parts of the global housing stock. Lead halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have achieved remarkable efficiencies comparable to those of their established silicon counterparts at a very fast pace. Moreover, solution-processable facile technologies offer low-cost, low-temperature, scalable fabrication these cells. Numerous studies focused on improving the performance, stability, and processing PSCs. However, potential lead toxicity poor long-term stability impede commercialization. In recent years, several developed novel encapsulants for PSCs that can simultaneously improve leakage. Although improvements been made both fronts, no solution date could achieve level leakage prevention result in market breakthrough. Here, we analyze PSC encapsulation techniques undertaken years. While most related either or toxicity, note be solved together with suitable encapsulant is impermeable moisture Pb2+ ions. addition, lack unified standard testing protocol has led under variety temperatures, humidities, environmental conditions. Therefore, urgency cannot overlooked.
