Deposition of potentially toxic elements (PTEs) in soils due to different types mining activities has been an increasingly important concern worldwide. Quantitative differences soil PTEs contamination and related health risk among typical mines remain unclear. Herein, data from 110 coal 168 metal across China were analyzed based on 265 published literatures evaluate pollution characteristics, spatial distribution, probabilistic risks PTEs. The results showed that PTE levels both mine significantly exceeded background values. geoaccumulation index (I

Groundwater is a significant component of water resources, but drinking groundwater with excessive heavy metals (HMs) harmful to human health. Currently, quantitative source apportionment and probabilistic health risk assessment HMs in are relatively limited. In this study, 60 samples containing seven were collected from Hainan Island analyzed by the coupled absolute principal scores/multiple linear regression (APCS/MLR), (HRA) Monte Carlo simulation (MCS) quantify pollution sources risks. The results show that high-pollution-value areas mainly located industry-oriented western region, level study area generally low. main found be mixed agricultural activities traffic emissions (39.16%), industrial (25.57%) natural (35.27%). Although non-carcinogenic risks for adults children negligible, carcinogenic at high level. Through analyzing relationship between HMs, sources, risks, contribute most Cr determined as priority control HM. This emphasizes importance evaluation HM assessment, which provides an essential basis prevention Island.
