A systematic study was executed in the Wadi Fatimah basin, Saudi Arabia to appraise hydrochemical processes, contamination sources and water quality using an integrated approach namely geochemical methods, multivariate statistical analyses indices. In this aquifer, average value of electrical conductivity total dissolved solids is 4292 µS/cm 2747 mg/l, respectively. The predominant facies are CaMgCl followed by NaCl. Further, 76% (hardness), 51% (major ions NO3−) 15% (F−) samples surpassed World Health Organization-prescribed drinking limit. index (DWQI) also reveal that 25% 46% not appropriate for application. Spatial maps major ions, hardness DWQI depict deteriorated from upstream downstream extreme values exist downstream. Gibbs plots, ionic ratios, Pearson correlation coefficient principal component analysis justify groundwater chemistry predominantly affected evaporation, evaporite dissolution ion exchange reactions mineral weathering. High NO3− originates nitrification, irrigation return flow wastewater recharge. Groundwater F− derived weathering fluoride minerals enhanced evaporation. This emphasizes proper treatment required before distribution various uses basin.

The majority of people living on earth rely groundwater as their primary supply water for daily needs. However, human activities continuously threaten this natural resource. In an attempt to unravel the extent impact human-related physicochemical characteristics in Nnewi and Awka urban clusters (Nigeria), several techniques were integrated study. Groundwater samples warm acidic nature. Concentrations SO42-, NO3-, PO43-, Cl-, HCO3-, Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+ K+ within set benchmarks. nutrient pollution index (ranging from 0.060 0.745), nitrate (varying between −0.999 −0.790) 0.057 0.630) estimated anthropogenic contamination showed low characteristics. health risks due ingestion skin absorption nitrate-contaminated computed six age groups (6–12 months, 5–10 years, 10–15 15–20 20–60 years >60 years) risk values that < 1, implying chronic humans. cumulative total hazard ranged 0.006 0.787 with a mean value 0.167. Chemometric analyses geochemical plots revealed relationships variables sources. Chadha's plot 55% Ca2+-Mg2+-Cl- waters, predominating over Na+-Cl- Ca2+-Mg2+-HCO3- waters. Bivariate multivariate also indicated impact. Furthermore, principal component analysis R-type hierarchical clustering confirmed chemistry quality mostly influenced by geogenic processes than acts. Conclusively, influence is low. These findings would be useful future monitoring both clusters.

High concentrations of potentially toxic elements (PTEs) in potable water can cause severe human health disorders. Present study examined the fitness groundwater for drinking purpose based on occurrence nine PTEs a heavy pilgrim and tourist influx region Garhwal Himalaya, India. The analyzed were observed order Zn > Mn As Al Cu Cr Se Pb Cd. Apart from As, other within corresponding guideline values. Spatial maps produced to visualize distribution area. Estimated pollution indices non-carcinogenic risk indicated that investigated is safe purpose, as hazard index was < 1 all samples. Assessment cancer Cr, Cd, also low risks associated with use, values acceptable range ≤ × 10-6 10-4. Multivariate statistical analyses used describe various possible geogenic anthropogenic sources resources although contamination levels found pose no serious risk. However, present recommends stop discharge untreated wastewater establish cost-effective well efficient treatment facility nearby work's findings are vital they may protect massive population contaminated consumption. Moreover, it help researchers, governing authorities supplying agencies take prompt appropriate decisions security.

Human activities and climate may have an impact on the water quality of reservoirs. Therefore, present research aims to use entropy index assessment technique analyze features main supply reservoirs as well investigate effect parameters In this study, total non-carcinogenic health risks from various exposure paths were estimated for adults children. The major in Kohgiluyeh Boyer-Ahmad province was typically poor unfit human consumption. Besides, risk higher males (0.958–1.497) children (1.065–1.664) than females (0.879–1.374) according assessments. Among factors under magnesium nitrate had highest influence risk. Finally, sensitivity each affecting assessed using Sobel analysis. results indicated that concentration (Cw) Ingestion Rate (IR) most sensitive oral state, while Cw fraction skin's surface area (F) more dermal state.
