Pharmaceuticals
and
Personal
Care
Compounds
(PPCPs)
are
contaminants
present
in
wastewater
the
receiving
surface
waters,
which
have
no
regulations
can
bring
on
environmental
risks.
In
this
study,
we
evaluated
presence
of
six
PPCPs
Oro
River
Sub-basin
(Colombia)
risk
associated
with
them.
We
verified
that
monitored
rivers
show
Ibuprofen,
Cephalexin
Carbamazepine;
first
ones
(Ibuprofen
cephalexin)
were
those
presented
higher
concentrations
since
they
widely
prescribed
Colombia.
Pharmaceutical
compound
downstream
treatment
plants
from
Floridablanca
than
other
monitoring
sites
being
a
significant
point
source
contamination.
This
plant
receives
hospital
discharges
city,
including
internationally
recognized
clinics
accepting
patients
different

Pharmaceuticals

increase

indiscriminate
use

personal
care
products,
food
fertilizers,
pesticides,
health

pollutants
(EPs)
or
concern
(PEC).
Latin
American
(LA)
region
comprises
20
countries
with
different
social
cultural
aspects,

%

urban
areas.
LA
has
some

users/consumers
EPs,
from
pesticides
fertilizers
to
products.
However,
there
is
a
gap
information
related
distribution
EPs
environment
this
region,
very
few
existing
review
texts
exploring
issue.
Therefore,
present
paper
advances
approach.

exhaustive
literature
review,

provided

up-to-date
presence/distribution

procedures

analyzing
pharmaceuticals
and
personal
care
products
(PPCPs)
are

thus,
it
