Abstract Lakes, especially shallow lakes, contribute disproportionately to greenhouse gas (GHG; particularly CO 2 and CH 4 ) emissions have received global attention due their high potential warming future climate change. Recent studies identified eutrophication as a critical factor in GHG emissions. However, the role of lake trophic state index (TSI) impact important water quality parameters (WQP) such pH, Chl‐a, total nitrogen, phosphorus organic carbon on are still subject debate an area intense research. To further understand relationship between eutrophication, datasets (GHG WQP) from scientific literature been compiled, statistical analyses these secondary data were performed determine influence In this review, Chinese lakes quantified, factors affecting analysed systematically. The analysis reveals that chlorophyll (as TOC) key significant effect (mainly fluxes). addition, proposed mitigation measures could serve guide for scientists young researchers reduce climatic risks.

Lakes are active components of the global carbon cycle and host a range processes that degrade modify dissolved organic matter (DOM). Through degradation DOM molecules synthesis new compounds, microbes in aquatic environments strongly continuously influence chemodiversity, which can feedback to microbial diversity. Developing better understanding biodiversity patterns emerge along spatial environmental gradients is one key objectives community ecology. A changing climate may affect ecological feedback, including those communities. To maintain function lake ecosystem predict cycling environment, it increasingly important understand coupling between unravel biotic abiotic mechanisms control structure communities lakes, we combined high-throughput sequencing ultra-high resolution mass spectrometry together with null modeling approach. The advantage models their ability evaluate relative influences stochastic deterministic assembly both assemblages. present study includes spatiotemporal signatures six temperate lakes contrasting continental Mediterranean climates during productive season. Different conditions nutrient sources characterized studied lakes. Our results have shown high covariance molecular-level diversity individual especially microeukaryotes free-living bacteria indicating dynamic feedback. We found differences climatic regions were mainly reflected at molecular formula-level microeukaryota community. Furthermore, using was governed by variable selection operating consistently within among In contrast, highly across different trophic status regions. Difference governing composition does not indicate weak these components, rather suggests distinct factors be influencing assemblages separately. The presence of pollutants in our atmosphere has become one humanity’s greatest challenges. These pollutants, produced primarily by burning fossil fuels, are detrimental to human health, climate and agriculture. This work proposes the use a spatiotemporal graph neural network, designed forecast ozone concentration based on GraphSAGE paradigm, aid understanding dynamic nature these pollutants’ production proliferation urban areas. model was trained tested using data from Houston, Texas, United States, with varying numbers time-lags, horizons (1, 3, 6 h ahead), input nearby stations. results show that proposed GNN-SAGE successfully recognized patterns underlying data, bolstering its forecasting performance when compared benchmarking persistence 33.7%, 48.7% 57.1% for 1, 3 horizons, respectively. produces error levels lower than we could find existing literature. conclusions drawn variable importance SHAP analysis also revealed predicting ozone, solar radiation becomes relevant as time horizon is raised. Many recent studies have revealed that polluted rivers are emerging as potent emitters of greenhouse gases (GHGs). However, the scientific understanding GHG emissions is still limited. The present review aims to provide a systematic analysis from in various eco-regions. highlighted high nutrient loadings such total nitrogen (TN), organic carbon (OC), phosphorous (TP), and anoxic condition major influencing factors for CO2, N2O, CH4 emissions. Moreover, strong positive correlation trophic level index (TLI) with CO2 fluxes was observed. state-of-art suggested based on land use water quality, different vary considerably. For instance, reported N2O ranged between 0.007 3.721 mmol m-2d-1 urban-impacted 0.009–0.049 agricultural rivers. 0.001 458 m-2d-1, 0.05–1.02 1.40–14.30 urban impacted, natural rivers, respectively. Agriculture is considered a significant climate change (CC) driver due to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and the loss of fertilizers that contribute water eutrophication. On other hand, effects are already impacting agriculture, endangering food security. This paper explores dichotomies agriculture on CC as well focusing contribution nanofertilizers can bring this complex system in both directions. The inheritance of historic human-induced disruption and the fierceness its impact change aquatic ecosystems. This work reviews some main stressors on freshwater ecosystems, focusing their effects, threats, risks, protection, conservation, management elements. An overview is provided water protection linked to stressors: solar ultraviolet radiation, thermal pollution, nanoparticles, radioactive salinization, nutrients, sedimentation, drought, extreme floods, fragmentation, pesticides, war terrorism, algal blooms, invasive plants, riparian vegetation, fish. Altogether, these build an exceptionally composite background that are continuously changing ecosystems diminishing or even destroying capability create maintain ongoing natural healthy products essential services humans. Environmental human civilization sustainability cannot exist without proper all over planet; this specific impossible if widespread studied not deeply understood structurally functionally. Without considering each synergisms, Earth’s doomed in terms both quantitative qualitative aspects.
