Microplastic contamination has become a problem, as plastic production increased worldwide. Microplastics are plastics with particles of less than 5 mm and absorbed through soil, water, atmosphere, living organisms finally affect human health. However, information on the distribution, toxicity, analytical methods, removal techniques for microplastics is insufficient. For clear microplastic methods technologies, this article includes following: (1) The distribution pathways worldwide reviewed. (2) health effects toxicity were researched. (3) sampling, pretreatment, all reviewed various related articles. (4) categorized by wastewater treatment process, physical treatment, chemical biological treatment. This paper will be great help to analysis techniques.

Contamination of microplastics (MPs) is a global environmental issue that has received much attention from the scientific and public communities due to ecological concerns in recent decades. Comparing with aquatic ecosystems, soil systems, regardless high importance complexity, have been less studied under widely existing increasing MP contamination. This review, combined data assimilation meta-analysis methods, summarized current contamination conditions MPs across different sites reported earlier studies. While performing this meta-analysis, we investigated effects on biota including their numbers, biomass, diversity, physiological properties. The results showed abundance ranged 0.34 410958.9 items kg-1 concentration 0.002 67500 mg sites, agricultural soils containing significantly lower than others. Presence decreased individual number biota, operational taxonomic unit, diversity index (Simpson), movement reproduction rate, whereas mortality rate was increased by MPs. Despite these significant effects, did not alter biomass which could be counteraction negative positive groups organisms. Moreover, observed increase Chao1 index, suggesting may act as food resource for rare biosphere. Based knowledge, suggest future studies should focus research areas include but are limited methodological improvements, intensive field investigations, risk assessment perspective web bioaccumulation, induced antibiotic resistance, restoration strategies reduce concentrations soil.

Pathogens and polymers can separately cause disease; however, environmental medical researchers are increasingly investigating the capacity of to transfer pathogenic bacteria, disease, hosts in new environments. We integrated causal frameworks from ecology epidemiology into one interdisciplinary framework with four stages (colonization, survival, transfer, disease). then systematically critically reviewed 111 papers. show 58% studies investigated colonization-stage alone but used this as evidence classify a substratum vector. Only 11% identified potential pathogens, only 3% confirming presence virulence-genes. Further, 8% μm-sized most (58%) examining less pervasive cm-sized polymers. No study showed bacteria preferentially colonize, survive, more disease on compared other media. One laboratory experiment demonstrated plausibility for be colonized by pathogen (Escherichia coli), coral (Astrangia poculata). Our analysis shows need linked structured surveys environmentally relevant experiments understand patterns processes across vectoral stages, so that risks impacts pathogens assessed certainty.
