Environmental pollution with organic pollutants has increased drastically in recent decades. Despite the importance of minimizing pollutant content such as pesticide residue edible crops, our understanding induced xenobiotic metabolism plants is poor. Melatonin a potent stress-relieving biomolecule, which exerts beneficial effects on plants. Exogenous melatonin treatment not only improves photosynthesis, antioxidant defense, and plant growth but also reduces uptake. The overexpression biosynthetic genes enhances metabolism, while suppression endogenous biosynthesis increases horticultural products. Studies have revealed that glutathione-dependent detoxification pathway plays critical role melatonin-induced enhanced xenobiotics. Moreover, for RESPIRATORY BURST HOMOLOG (RBOH)-derived reactive oxygen species signaling been potentially acts upstream metabolism. Agricultural chemical residues in farmland and crops is one of the serious public issues that constantly threatens crop production, food security, human health. Understanding their decay mechanism for accelerating degradative metabolism important. In this study, a rice uncharacterized cytochrome P450 gene encoding CYP76C6 was functionally identified exposed to isoproturon (IPU). To verify role resistance IPU toxicity, overexpression (OEs) knockout mutant by CRISPR/Cas9 were generated through genetic transformation gene-editing technologies. Assessment growth physiological responses revealed OE lines improved, IPU-induced cellular damage attenuated, accumulation significantly repressed, whereas Cas9 displayed contrasting phenotype compared wild-type. Both relative contents metabolites conjugates reduced those line increased, suggesting plays critical degradation.
