The application of the solar photocatalysis for degradation residual pollutants found in surface water was demonstrated. Semi-pilot scale flat-plate cascade reactor (FPCR) used to study model organic pollutants: enrofloxacin (ENRO), 17β-estradiol (E2) and 1H-benzotriazole (1H-BT) over TiO2 thin-film supported on glass fibers. A modular panel with full-spectra lamps appropriate UVB UVA irradiation levels as a simulation sunlight. Pollutant FPCR estimated using predictive models; intrinsic reaction rate constants (ki) ENRO, E2 1H-BT independent size, flow conditions were determined: 9.60, 3.35 0.37 109 s-1 W-0.5 m1.5, respectively. Main products (DPs), formed upon hydroxylation, ring opening oxidation, identified LC-QTOF-MS. ecotoxicological impact assessed via T.E.S.T. ECOSAR open-source tools showing formation less harmful DPs after sufficient time. simulated at four locations interest, i.e. exhausts from urban wastewater treatment plants (UWWTPs) Zagreb, Croatia (45°N), Krakow, Poland (50°N), Sevilla, Spain (37°N) Ioannina, Greece (39.6°N). Results have proved that simple system photocatalysts can be easily scaled up incorporated outlet UWWTP reduction pollutant load related toxicity. exhaust canal Zagreb length photocatalytic layer 122 m > 90% all target discussed best installation site among studied locations. ENVIRONMENTAL IMPLICATION: multi-disciplinary approach tentative outdoors reduce loads toxicity waters Possible selected Europe, an additional step discussed. Target under environmentally relevant (sunlight levels, matrix, process real geographical location), both higher low concentrations.

Since a large number of contaminants are detected in source waters (SWs) and tap (TWs), it is important to perform comprehensive effect evaluation key contributor identification. A reduced human transcriptome (RHT)-based effect-directed analysis, which consisted concentration-dependent RHT reveal the effects noteworthy pathways systematic identification contributors based on interactions between compounds pathway effects, was developed applied typical SWs TWs along Yangtze River. By RHT, 42% more differentially expressed genes 33% were identified middle lower reaches, indicating heavier pollution. Hormone immune prioritized detection frequency, sensitivity, removal efficiency, among estrogen receptor most noteworthy. Consistent with estrogenic widespread River vitro evaluations. Furthermore, 38 100 targets, 39 pathway-related suspects, 16 nontargets systematically identified. Among them, diethylstilbestrol dominant contributor, estradiol equivalent (EEQ) significantly correlated EEQwater. In addition, zearalenone niclosamide explained up 54% The RHT-based EDA method could support evaluation, identification, risk management micropolluted waters.

The applications of multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) techniques are numerous. Simple Multi-Attribute Rating Technique (SMART) is a popular method for addressing MCDM problems with several criteria. research investigates the SMART approach discussing how it used, and its benefits drawbacks, in situations. It looks at can be applied choosing technology, improving healthcare systems, managing environment. simplifies by comparing options based on factors. Yet also has drawbacks such as biases assigning weights may not fully address intricacies certain decisions. goal study to enhance comprehension advocate use propose combining intricate decision frameworks. Even though now widely used there lack thorough understanding identify various applications. This paper aims provide comprehensive guide overview aid ranking multi-attribute scenarios.

TOPSIS, known as Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution, is an example a multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) tools useful making ranking or selecting alternatives based on multiple criteria. In this study, rankings dispersive-extraction solvents used in DLLME the extraction mifepristone tap water samples was performed assess their greenness. Two TOPSIS methods objective mean weight (TOPSIS-MW) and entropy (TOPSIS-Entropy) weighting were proposed. Criteria divided into three main categories describing different analytical perspectives: performance, greenness, combination performance solvent The properties safety data solvents, detector response coefficient variance considered attributes rank greener pairs from sixteen disperser alternatives. best overall dichloroethane-acetone chlorobenzene-tetrahydrofuran pair weighted weights, respectively. assessment greenness showed that chloroform-acetone most favourable option terms green chemistry. first two group criteria also achieved solvents. TOPSIS-MW TOPSIS-Entropy evaluated against simple additive (SAW) LC-QTOF-MS. found be closely correlated with some leading precisely similar observations.

ABSTRACT The growing demand for water in agriculture requires a thorough assessment of quality to ensure sustainable irrigation practices. This study integrates novel approach, the method removal effects criteria (MEREC), with principal component analysis (PCA), which delves into intricate interplay key parameters within Karun River Basin, vital agricultural region Iran. include total dissolved solids (TDS), electrical conductivity (EC), sodium adsorption ratio (SAR), permeability index (PI), hardness (TH), percentage (SP), magnesium (MAR) and potential salinity (PS). results revealed strong correlations between EC, TDS SAR. PCA that SAR PS were primary contributors variations quality, explaining more than 89% variance. MEREC was most significant factor, followed by EC calculated (WQI) indicated 74% samples fell low‐restriction category, whereas 26% exhibited moderate restrictions. These findings suggest although Basin is generally suitable irrigation, content may pose challenges productivity.
