The lack of fresh water has accelerated efforts to improve the current treatment technology for reclamation wastewater. Simultaneous heterotrophic nitrification and aerobic denitrification (known as SND) nitrogen removal drawn increasing attention due its' high efficiency low cost. Comparing with traditional removal, SND process can achieve simultaneous within a reactor unit.
