Improving agricultural green total factor productivity is crucial to promoting high-quality development. This paper selects the panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2009 2020 and uses super-efficiency SBM model with undesirable outputs measure all regions China. On this basis, fixed-effect spatial Durbin empirically discuss impact credit input on its spillover effect. Improving agricultural green total factor productivity is important for achieving high-quality economic development and the SDGs. Digital inclusive finance, which combines advantages of digital technology represents a new scheme that can ease credit constraints information ambiguity in production. Agricultural production faces the dual challenge of increasing output while ensuring efficient resource utilization and environmental sustainability amid escalating global climate change relentless increases in human demand. This study used provincial panel data from China 2001 to 2022 address these challenges. It systematically evaluated dynamic evolution agricultural green total factor productivity (AGTFP) by selecting “resources” “energy” as core input factors adopting a dual-output approach focused on “economic” “low-carbon” outcomes. thoroughly analyzed synergistic mechanisms such natural endowment, technology, economic development, regulation, exploring their impact AGTFP enhancement through innovative application fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) method. There was significant upward trend across China, indicating notable progress development. Additionally, three pathways promoting improvement were identified: resource–economy-driven, technology–policy-guided, multifactor-synergy. Simultaneously, two modes constraining uncovered: economy–policy suppression capital–economy suppression, highlighting pivotal role regional development conditionality converting advantages. Moreover, contributions exhibited temporal dynamics. Major events, 2008 financial crisis policy shifts, including 2012 “Ecological Civilization” strategy, significantly altered effectiveness existing configurations. Our heterogeneity revealed distinct geographical patterns, with resource–economy-driven model predominantly observed central regions technology–policy-guided multi-factor-synergy models more prevalent eastern regions. Environmental regulation is the basis for achieving green agricultural development, and urban-rural integration key to optimizing allocation of elements sustainable development. China introduced the "agricultural water conversion policy" in 2012 to efficiently utilize agricultural resources and improve production technology different regions of Country increase sustainable agriculture production.
