Coordination between ecological security and economic development is crucial to sustainable development, with a strategy that should be adjusted according the type of region. Yunnan Province, China, treasure trove biodiversity but economically lagging. Clarifying relationship can provide reference for similar hotspots in world. The landscape index method evaluation were used calculate safety (ESI) (EDI), respectively, median value indices was comprehensive zoning. coupled coordination degree model (CCDM) assess status each zone. results show (1) Yunnan’s pattern high west low east, mainly influenced by topography, climate, human activities; its resource-dependent shows multi-point dispersed due poor transportation; (2) partitioned into Coordinated Development Zone (CDZ), Ecological Risk (ERZ), Economic Poverty (EPZ), Dual Pressure (DPZ). Among them, CDZs (15%) are mostly areas outstanding advantageous resources, mature characteristic industries, relatively spatially dispersed. There two types ERZs (35%): one an area where intensity activities exceeds carrying capacity, located eastern plateau; other fragile background conditions, mountains river valleys. EPZs (35%) lagging socioeconomics DPZ environment constrains form negative cycle. "Taking the county as an important carrier to promote urbanization" has been identified China's most significant strategic planning for urban development. Exploring level of coordination among both water-related ecosystem services (WES) and urbanization analyzing their social ecological drivers at county-level can benefit in tackling various environmental challenges that arise a result urbanization. This research examined spatial temporal variation WES (i.e., water provision, soil conservation, purification services) Yangtze River Economic Belt (YREB) from 2000 2018 through Integrated Valuation Ecosystem Services Tradeoffs (InVEST) model, quantitative assessment terms population, economy, area increase. Against the backdrop of rapid urbanization, associated environmental problems, including low resource consumption, severe pollution emissions, and awareness, have become salient. The key to achieving sustainable development in Ya’an lies accelerating new urbanization while ensuring preservation existing ecological advantages. Firstly, this study constructs evaluation index systems for environment using Population–Economic–Spatial–Social (PESS) Pressure–State–Response (PSR) models, respectively. Then, entropy weight model is used calculate weights each secondary indicator systems. coupling coordination degree (CCD) relative (RDD) models are applied analyze spatial temporal changes from 2011 2021. Finally, autocorrelation geographically weighted regression (GWR) combined factors influencing differences among Ya’an’s districts counties. results indicate following: (1) From 2021, CCD shifted basically balanced highly balanced, RDD lag systematic balanced. (2) varies significantly regions, differentiation effects different has characteristics.
