Carex acuta leaves were sampled on the edge of glacial lake Gornje bare (National Park “Sutjeska”, Zelengora mountain, Bosnia and Herzegovina). Two types samples taken: plants that grew moist soil at time sampling, designated as CAm, partially submerged sampling CAs. Our work aimed to compare content photosynthetic pigments, concentration total phenolic compounds flavonoids well antioxidant capacity between two CAm CAs samples. results showed chlorophyll carotenoids higher in sample. Abstract Among the various natural disasters that take place around world, flood is considered to be most extensive. There have been several floods in Buzău river basin, and as a result of this, area has chosen study area. For purpose this research, we applied deep learning machine benchmarks order prepare potential maps at basin scale. In regard 12 predictors, 205 non-flood locations were used input data into following 3 complex models: Deep Learning Neural Network-Harris Hawk Optimization-Index Entropy (DLNN-HHO-IOE), Multilayer Perceptron-Harris (MLP-HHO-IOE) Stacking ensemble-Harris (Stacking-HHO-IOE). The sample was divided training (70%) validating (30%) sample, meanwhile prediction ability conditioning factors tested through Correlation-based Feature Selection method. ROC Curve statistical metrics involved results validation. modeling process stated algorithms showed important predictors are represented by: slope (importance ≈ 20%), distance from 17.5%), land use 12%) TPI 10%). importance values compute susceptibility, while Natural Breaks method classify results. high very susceptibility spread on approximately 35–40% zone. Curve, terms Success, Rate shows highest performance achieved FPI DLNN-HHO-IOE (AUC = 0.97), followed by Stacking-HHO-IOE 0.966) MLP-HHO-IOE 0.953), Prediction indicates being performant model with an AUC 0.977, 0.97) 0.924).

The Yangtze River Basin was among the areas most severely affected by widespread extreme drought in Northern Hemisphere 2022. Drought conditions this basin extended into wintering season, significantly influencing waterfowl habitat availability. Exploring how distributions and ecological niches respond to these changes wetland environmental underlying mechanisms are important for biodiversity conservation understanding processes. By integrating field observations, remote sensing, niche modelling, we analysed over past decade investigated distribution patterns spatial of two guilds, ducks geese, Dongting Lake Region, a key ecosystem Basin. led drastic reduction waterbody area natural habitats caused vegetation enter wilting stage prematurely. In response, substantial proportion shifted adjacent managed wetlands with stable water levels, especially ducks, whose pattern fundamentally altered. both guilds showed significant correlation area. Further, compared 2022 that former year, which represented typical year normal hydrology. underwent contraction, while geese remained large years but inward towards lower elevation, foraging resource use Therefore, extent overlap between small. This study has implications impact climatic hydrological events on ecosystems. Furthermore, our results emphasise importance level-managed conservation.

The hydrological regime in wetlands plays an important role the process of wintering waterbird metacommunity assemblage. However, increasing frequency extreme climate and intensification human activities, such as construction sluices dams, have resulted frequently abnormal middle lower Yangtze River floodplain. In recent years, earlier flood recession has become one main problems faced shallow lakes, having a great impact on wetland biodiversity. It is necessary to understand waterbirds, indicator biodiversity, concept helpful elucidate underlying mechanism involved processes assemblage by communities. this study, we surveyed waterbirds at three sub-lakes Caizi Lakes during 2019–2020 2020–2021 compared richness, abundance, alpha beta diversity among local metacommunities under normal . results showed that reduced species richness early stage abundance late stage, it also Shannon–Wiener index increased dissimilarity between within stage. partition turnover component played major was found different stages recession, which waterbirds. Metacommunities with high habitat heterogeneity had better resistance regime, metacommunities. study provide information for conservation water level management lakes
