The honey bee is the most common and important managed pollinator of crops. In recent years, colonies faced high mortality for multiple causes, including land-use change use plant protection products (hereafter pesticides). This work aimed to explore how contamination by pesticides pollen collected bees was modulated landscape composition seasonality. We placed two in 13 locations Northern Italy contrasting landscapes, from which we samples monthly during whole flowering season 2019 2020. searched almost 400 compounds, fungicides, herbicides, insecticides, acaricides. then calculated each sample Pollen Hazard Quotient (PHQ), an index that provides a measure multi-residue toxicity contaminated pollen. Almost all were at least one compound. detected 97 mainly but insecticides acaricides showed highest toxicity. Fifteen % had medium-high or levels PHQ, could pose serious threats bees. Fungicides nearly constant PHQ throughout season, while herbicides higher values spring early summer. Also, increased with increasing cover agricultural urban areas April July, it low independent end season. perennial crops, i.e., fruit trees vineyards, not annual samples. Our highlighted potential complex interactions among pesticide category, seasonality, composition. Due large number compounds detected, our study should be complemented additional experimental research on interactive effects health.

Social bees are frequently exposed to pesticides when foraging on nectar and pollen. Recent research has shown that pesticide exposure not only impacts social bee host health but can also alter the community structure of gut microbiotas. However, most pesticide-bee microbiota interactions been conducted in honey bees; bumble bees, native North American pollinators, have received less attention and, due differences their ecology, may be certain for shorter durations than bees. Here, we examine how fungicide chlorothalonil a short, field-realistic duration alters fecal microbiotas (used as proxy microbiotas) performance. We expose small groups

Honeybees are important pollinators worldwide, with their gut microbiota playing a crucial role in maintaining health. The bacteria of honeybees consist primarily five core lineages that spread through social interactions. Previous studies have provided basic understanding the composition and function honeybee microbiota, recent advancements focusing on analyzing diversity at strain level changes bacterial functional genes. Research across different regions globally has insights into microbial ecology. Additionally, findings shed light mechanisms host specificity bacteria. This review explores temporospatial dynamics discussing reasons behind these fluctuations. synopsis provides host-microbe interactions is invaluable for
