The round goby (Neogobius melanostomus) is an invasive species that can be used as a raw material in the food industry and also bioindicator of heavy metal pollution environment. In this study, Cd, Co, Cr, Mo, Ni, Pb were determined water, bottom sediment, muscle, liver, gills, gonads from Dąbie Lake, Szczecin Lagoon, Puck Bay (all southern Baltic Sea) using atomic absorption spectrometry. Fulton's condition factor, gonadal hepatosomatic indices (GSI, HSI) calculated. Based on estimated daily intake (EDI), target hazard quotient (THQ), carcinogenic risk (CR), we assessed human health related to consumption metals goby. fish had length weight ranges 15.0–16.7 cm 55.3–80.9 g, respectively. factor ranged 1.26 2.48 was highest (p < 0.05) for Lake. range concentrations (in μg kg−1) 2.92 (Cd muscles Lagoon) 106.4 (Ni Lake). found livers, Ni gonads, Cr gills. calculated EDIs below reference oral dose (RfD) maximum Cd (1.6% RfD) (15.1% RfD). less than 1. conclusion, has higher potential accumulate water sediments. Consumption its muscle should not pose (cancer considered acceptable). Due accumulation, moderate recommended pregnant women children. Finally, our results indicate (especially liver) monitor contamination aquatic ecosystems.

The bioaccumulation of trace elements and heavy metals in aquatic organisms is a critical environmental concern due to its potential impact on ecosystem health human safety. This study investigated the level Labeo rohita Mystus seenghala from River Jhelum district Khushab, Punjab, Pakistan. concentration calcium, magnesium, iron, nickel, copper, arsenic, cadmium, zinc, chromium, manganese, cobalt, lead gills, liver, muscle tissues these fish was measured using inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry. Then, extent contamination possible risks were assayed. Our findings indicate significant variations elemental metal concentrations among different organs between species, reflecting their diverse feeding habits habitats. risk assessment based estimated daily intake, weekly maximum permissible target hazard quotient, index or total index, cancer revealed consumers fish. emphasizes need for continuous monitoring, as new data insights are crucial understanding mitigating risks. Strict regulatory measures also necessary safeguard public preserve River.

The increasing abundance of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs), which are regarded as new pollutants, has raised public health concern. use antibiotics in aquaculture promoted the evolution and spread ARGs. occurrence ARGs attracted extensive attention. However, distribution transmission require further study. This study analyzed water sediment from intensive culture hybrid snakehead fish farm Zhongshan, South China. Twenty-two types were detected all environmental samples. relative sulfonamide ( sul1 sul2 ) was highest, ranging 3.37×10 -2 to 8.53×10 0 copies/16S rRNA gene. High quinolones, phenicols, tetracycline genes, class 1 integrase gene intI1 also observed pond implies that is one main reservoirs origins aquatic environment. Proteobacteria most abundant phylum samples, its ranged 24.05% 41.84%. Network canonical correspondence analyses showed a high int1 , qacEΔ1 aac6 oqxA positively correlated with Cyanobacteria Bacteroidetes Actinobacteria Patescibacteria factors (sulfide, nitrite nitrogen, pH, free chlorine, ammonia nitrogen). These findings demonstrate prevalence persistence farming southern suggests ARG levels microbiological community composition should be conventionally determined assess potential risks health.
