Virtual water flows have a profound impact on the natural system of country or region, and they may help conserve local resources exacerbate scarcity in some areas. However, current research has only focused measurement virtual flows, without analysis causes flow patterns. This study first obtained patterns across provinces by constructing multi-regional input–-output (MRIO) model Yellow River basin 2012 2017, then analyzed its driving factors applying extended STIRPAT to provide directions for using trade alleviate shortages water-scarce areas basin. We found following: (1) The as whole had net inflow increased from 2.14 billion m3 33.67 m3. (2) Different regions assume different roles within (3) There is an obvious regional heterogeneity subsectors. (4) Per capita GDP, tertiary industry contribution rate, consumer price index, are main positive drivers Basin provinces, while primary per resources, use unit arable area promote outflow. results this paper present useful information understanding flow, which could optimal allocation achieve ecological protection high-quality development area.

With population and economic growth, coupled with the problem of limited water resources, having led to widespread problems like scarcity aquatic pollution, exploring impacts exploitation usage on environment, society, economy is important for achieving regional sustainability goals. In order analyze impact different resources utilization policy scenarios footprint (WF) environmental sustainability, WF social scenario optimization, this study employed a system dynamics approach build (WFS) under six future scenarios: status quo (S1), open-source throttling (S2), pollution reduction (S3), agricultural development (S4), socioeconomic (S5), comprehensive (S6). Additionally, dynamic effects were comparatively analyzed. The improved radar chart was applied calculate assessment values select optimal scenario. results revealed that compared S1, S2 S3 reduced consumption whereas S4, S5, S6 promoted socio-economic development, however, not conducive solving shortage problems. Under scenarios, would deteriorate, continue improve. Six have varying WFS. evaluation value largest, much higher than indicating improving WFS realizing coordinated economy. findings afforded scientific foundation sustainable evolution ensuring security.

The escalating environmental crisis and pressing water resource conservation issues globally necessitate comprehensive research. This study investigates urban green space regulations challenges in Indonesia Australia. Employing a comparative analysis, it examines the legal frameworks, policies, implementations both countries. research aims to identify innovative sustainable strategies for protection. Findings reveal substantial disparities regulatory approaches, public involvement, integration of technologies management between two nations. needs help enhancing institutional capacity integrating policies into planning, while Australia focuses on climate change adaptation management. advocates cross-sectoral collaboration ecosystem principles practical objectives. It contributes fresh perspectives policy frameworks addressing through management, offering recommendations cohesive development.

China is currently experiencing severe water scarcity issues in its agricultural production sector. To address this challenge, the Chinese government has taken steps towards implementing a nationwide reform pricing to accelerate more sustainable management of resources The present study adopted multiple regression model test four alternative irrigation charging methodologies (charges based on ladder pricing, time, land area, and electricity) accompanied by supportive policies inherent conflicts between conservation development goals. This focused Wei River Basin, which recognized as highly water-stressed region China. basin was chosen pilot area for comprehensive initiatives related served geographical scope our research. Between June July 2022, we conducted field surveys within accumulating dataset 415 data points pertaining crop year 2022. Our results showed that price-based method exhibited remarkable potential achieving substantial savings, with minimum 60.5239 m3/mu conserved food crops an impressive 67.8090 cash crops. However, regarding water-saving technologies, estimation indicated electricity-based outperformed other methods, resulting 55.22% increase when benchmark. In addition, green production, are different, being sensitive price policies. Moreover, suggested different methods have significant heterogeneity effects from perspective farmers’ scale, fragmentation, awareness capacity. forges innovative path nations execute enhance production’s growth.
