Abstract Chemical exposomes can now be comprehensively measured in human blood, but robust application of chemical exposomics cohort studies requires knowledge the longitudinal stability and interindividual variability exogenous molecular profiles. Here we applied to plasma 46 adults, each sampled six times over two years a multiomic wellness cohort. New chemicals were discovered, distinctive co-exposure patterns observed, intra-class correlation coefficients (ICC) for 519 confidently annotated substances are reported support study design. Longitudinal exposome (mean ICC 0.30) was significantly lower than proteome, metabolome, lipidome or microbiome, must more frequently other profiles health studies. Mixed-effects models nevertheless revealed significant associations between testosterone perfluoroalkyl substances, time-trends low high exposures alike. Complex data structures visualized explored, demonstrating great potential precision research. Teaser The first cohort-level novel dynamic co-exposures blood relevance health.

Streams and their riparian areas are important habitats foraging sites for bats feeding on emergent aquatic insects. Chemical pollutants entering freshwater streams from agricultural wastewater sources have been shown to alter insect emergence, yet little is known about how this impacts insectivorous in areas. In study, we investigate the relationships between presence of effluent, in-stream pesticide toxicity, number flying insects, activity hunting behaviour at 14 southwestern Germany. Stream were located forests, sheltered direct exposure urban We focused three bat species associated with areas: Myotis daubentonii, M. cf. brandtii, Pipistrellus pipistrellus. found that higher toxicity more frequent detection also tended be warmer nutrient lower oxygen concentrations. did not observe a reduction or rates association detections. Abstract Pesticides enter non-target surface waters as a result of agricultural activities and may reach water bodies in protected areas. We measured southwestern Germany pesticide concentrations after heavy rainfalls streams drinking protection area near Hausen (Freiburg) the catchment Queich (Landau), which originates from biosphere reserve Palatinate Forest. On average, 32 (n = 21) 21 10) pesticides were detected per sample event 56) 17), respectively. The majority > 50% all samples fungicides, with fluopyram being throughout samples. Aquatic invertebrates exhibited highest risks 16.1% exceeding mixture toxicity thresholds, whereas lower for aquatic plants (12.9%) fish (6.5%). Mixture threshold exceedances indicate adverse ecological effects to occur at half sites (50%). This study illustrates presence mixtures highlights organisms areas Germany.

As synthetic pesticides contribute to the global decline of pollinators, biopesticides have gained attention as more sustainable pest management alternatives in agriculture. Despite their perceived safety, there is increasing evidence that bioinsecticides can harm honey bees, which are crucial pollinators many commercial crops and key ecotoxicological models. This short review aims summarize studies on exposure pathways sublethal effects highlighting outdated risk assessment paradigms critical evaluation issues. We discuss need for novel approaches, such molecular techniques AI technologies, better understand mitigate bees. also highlight importance long-term field ethical considerations ecotoxicology protect bees promote agricultural practices.

An increase in herbicide use is occurring due to a growing population and herbicide-resistant crops agriculture, which has resulted more tolerant target species. Glyphosate 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) are two of the most commonly used herbicides worldwide recently being combination pre-mixed commercial formulas. Subsequently, contamination wetlands will exposure microorganisms multiple chemical stressors. Methane potent greenhouse gas naturally emitted from wetlands, but may disrupt biogeochemical processes leading an unbalanced methane cycle. We review impacts these on aquatic microbial communities glyphosate-derived nutrient enrichment 2,4-D inhibition oxidation, examine how altered metabolic lead increased production wetlands. The response wetland ecosystems vary across regions, part complexity communities, however, this perspective gives glimpse into potential global implications continuing demonstrates importance for research ecosystem-level co-stressors.

This work aimed to study the modeling of organic pollution waters Déganobo Lake system by three models: Multiple Linear Regression model (MLR model), Mutilayer Perceptron (MLP model) and Regression/ hybrid (MLR/MLP model). In its implementation, chemical oxygen demand (COD) these waters, obtained from August 2021 July 2022, was used. Two approaches were done in case their COD MLP MLR/MLP model: static dynamic modeling. The results have highlighted low predictions MLR (36.2 %) models (6-8-1 for 7-3-1 modeling, both predicting less than 35% experimental values with high error (RMSE upper 1.30 relative 0.750). However, (MLR/6-3-1 MLR/7-3-1 modeling) well predicted around 99% very errors 0.0001 0.006 cases). So, most efficient predict waters. accuracy this ecological again provided during study.
