Microplastics, measuring less than 5 mm in diameter, are now found various environmental media, including soil, water, and air, have infiltrated the food chain, ultimately becoming a part of human diet. This study offers comprehensive examination intricate nexus between microplastics health, thereby contributing to existing knowledge on subject. Sources microplastics, microfibers from textiles, personal care products, wastewater treatment plants, among others, were assessed. The meticulously examined diverse routes microplastic exposure—ingestion, inhalation, dermal contact—offering insights into associated health risks. Notably, ingestion has been linked gastrointestinal disturbances, endocrine disruption, potential transmission pathogenic bacteria. Inhalation airborne emerges as critical concern, with possible implications for respiratory cardiovascular health. Dermal contact, although explored, raises prospect skin irritation allergic reactions. impacts COVID-19 pollution also highlighted. Throughout manuscript, need deeper mechanistic understanding interactions systems is emphasized, underscoring urgency further research public awareness.

Microplastics (MPs) are emerging environmental contaminants pervasive in the environment. Studies have revealed that majority of airborne MPs form fiber. Inhaled atmospheric adversely impact human health, causing inflammation and oxidative stress. Atmospheric may also carry hazardous chemical pollutants addition to heavy metals. Many research studies been conducted about MPs’ presence components, however questions identification remained unanswered. Based on mentioned gaps, this study examined sources abundance atmosphere their generation, accumulation, fate. The paper further evaluates current methods for identifying assessing health According findings, there flaws complexity assessment technical procedures, which challenges data comparability dependability. In order ensure reliability, needs be expressed using a unified standard methodology. Innovative well-established methods, strategies minimize impacts MPs, appropriate steps reduce global pollution required state MPs. It provides an overview MPs' characteristics, sources, transmission deposition mechanisms. Advances bacterial degradation, sunlight-driven photocatalysts, fuels, biodegradable plastics could revolutionize future reducing plastic pollution. Future should include more various aspects Despite several many regarding from perspectives COVID-19 One Health still need answered. This will help key stakeholders policymakers safeguarding public environment threats posed by

Plastic pollution has reached irreversible levels in both the terrestrial and marine environments affecting our planet's fauna human health. debris originating from single-use plastic products (such as bags, cups, straws, etc.) been reported every natural habitat around globe, their fragmentation to micro nano-plastics poses high risks for organism, including humans. Political pressure awareness campaigns over past decades have led governments industry adopt legislative measures ban use of plastics seek alternative solutions. Hence, paper lids, packages, etc. started infiltrating daily routine, most promising products. However, there increasing research recent years showing that can be harmful environment This work reviewed ongoing on hazards associated with assess whether is a viable solution plastic. The findings here show might extremely terrestrial, fresh, environment, well health climate change. due release toxic chemical compounds directly into (as many cases these are not recyclable) food/beverage (due rapid mechanical/compositional failure), greenhouse gases, upon degradation. The COVID-19 pandemic created an unprecedented demand for PPE, with single-use face masks emerging as a critical tool in containing virus transmission. However, the extensive use and improper disposal of these masks, predominantly composed non-biodegradable plastics, has exacerbated environmental challenges. This research presents innovative method mechanically upcycling PPEs used medical sectors i.e. single masks. study investigates facile approach reclamation infection-free pure polypropylene (PP) plastic from discarded (W-PP) blends it various vegetable oil percentages (5, 10 20 %), resulting versatile material suitable applications. Melt flow index, rheological behaviour, DSC FTIR were employed to investigate effect oil/radical initiator through chemical grafting on W-PP properties. results demonstrate significant enhancements tensile strength modulus when blended radical initiator. There was marked increase (33 %) strain (55 compared untreated W-PP, rendering both robust flexible. Furthermore, we this upcycled fabrication glass fibre-reinforced composites, notable impact resistance. demonstrates excellent potential applications, such sheet forming 3D printing, where non-brittleness plastics plays pivotal role manufacturing high-quality products. cost-benefit analysis underscores PPE waste sustainable solution mitigate pollution conserve valuable resources. applications span wide range industries, including automotive packaging, printing.

Microplastics are environmental contaminants consisting of small plastics ≤ 5 mm. Concerns over the adverse effects microplastics have led to a rapid growth in available literature despite lack harmonized methods and materials. Therefore, field is becoming increasingly daunting new researchers. A state-of-the-art guide was assembled following comprehensive review research with intent addressing contemporary challenges, prioritized based on survey, introducing best practices. The standardized reference materials, access analytical equipment, difficulty working lower concentrations laboratory tests (e.g., toxicity assays) remain great challenge. present work addresses these issues across three main sections: definitions, sampling, evaluation effects. Harmonized greater collaboration were identified as opportunities this rapidly evolving field. interlaboratory comparison also conducted support additional recommendations.

Abstract Microplastics (MPs) are a class of emerging contaminants that have gained significant attention in recent years. The presence MPs the aquatic environment is reported to serious potential environmental and health impacts. Therefore, it essential develop efficient sustainable strategies for remediation from aqueous environment. Traditional techniques an limitations, including high costs production secondary pollutants. In this scenario, bioremediation offers several advantages has emerged as cost‐effective, eco‐friendly, strategy removal water. This article critically reviews progress applications different effects key factors such characteristics MPs, conditions, types microorganisms on elaborated detail. underlying mechanisms involved by also discussed comprehensively. Major technological challenges identified, recommendations future research provided. Despite challenges, promising approach can revolutionize MP process if major addressed.
