The widespread dissemination of carbapenem-resistant bacteria in wastewater systems, particularly from clinical sources, poses a significant public health risk. This study assessed the concentrations and distributions extracellular DNA (exDNA) intracellular (iDNA) harboring carbapenemase genes six tertiary care hospitals Germany. We collected total 36 samples, comprising biological replicates each hospital, analysed them using quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) digital (dPCR). analysis targeted seven genes: bla

Among the most problematic bacteria with clinical relevance are carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales (CRE), as there very limited options for their treatment. Treated wastewater can be a route release of these into environment and population. Wastewater analysis can serve as a source of public health information. In recent years, wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) has emerged and proven useful for the detection infectious diseases. However, insights from wastewater treatment plant do not allow small-scale differentiation within sewer system that is needed to analyze target population under study in more detail. Small-scale WBE offers several advantages, but there been no systematic overview its application. The aim this scoping review provide comprehensive current state knowledge on diseases, including methodological considerations A database search was conducted, considering only peer-reviewed articles. Cryptosporidium spp., Giardia duodenalis, Enterocytozoon bieneusi and Escherichia coli are important diarrheal pathogens threatening the health of humans various animals. Goats, especially pre-weaned goat kids, that carry these reservoirs related to human infection. In present study, PCR-based sequencing techniques were applied characterize G. E. in 202 fecal samples kids for Guanzhong dairy goats from five locations Shaanxi Province. The positive rates 37.6% (76/202), 16.3% (33/202), 55.4% (112/202) 78.7% (159/202) respectively. Co-infection two four was found 114 samples. Significant differences (p < 0.001) spp. duodenalis among age groups. Furthermore, species (C. parvum C. xiaoi), assemblages (E A), nine genotypes (CHG3, CHG1, BEB6, CHG5, CHG2, SX1, CHG28, COS-II CD6) pathotypes (EPEC EHEC) identified. As Cryptosporidium, (IIdA19G1 IIdA19G2) (XXIIIa XXIIIg) subtypes recognized xiaoi, A phylogenetic analysis based on ITS locus indicated all identified this study belonged group 2. Four virulence factors (ehxA, eae, stx2 stx1) EPEC EHEC strains. Collectively, explored colonization frequency Province expanded our understanding genetic composition zoonotic potential goats.
