Rapid urbanisation has increased heavy metal pollution. While vegetables are vital for health, rising contamination can pose significant risks that need attention. To evaluate the health of consuming residents in Gansu Province, this study used ICP-MS to determine Pb and Cd content 178 vegetable samples conduct risk assessments. The average levels were 0.104 0.014 mg/kg, with exceeding Chinese maximum limits 8.4% samples. Deterministic assessment indicated hazard quotients (HQs) index (HI) below 1. Probabilistic assessments consistent. carcinogenic (CR) was 10-4. CR above 10-4 80.1% males 82.4% females. Thus, did not a risk, but may risk.

The impact of heavy metal presence in soil on cereal crops is a growing concern, posing significant challenges to global food security and environmental sustainability. Cereal crops, vital sources nutrition, face the risk contamination with toxic metals released into environment through human activities. This paper explores key aspects requiring thorough investigation foster innovation understand intricate interactions between cereals. Visible symptoms physiological changes resulting from contamination, such as chlorosis stunted growth, demand further research devise targeted mitigation strategies sustainable agricultural practices. Root barrier formation, mycorrhizal symbiosis, metal-binding proteins emerge critical defence mechanisms for combating stress, offering opportunities developing metal-tolerant varieties. Research bioavailability safety implications grains safeguard health. reveals that multidisciplinary collaboration cutting-edge technologies are essential promoting beyond state art elucidating mitigating impacts crops. Genetic breeding approaches show promise varieties, while agronomic practices amendments can reduce toxicity. Unravelling complex underlying uptake tolerance agriculture worldwide Embracing pollution proactive secure resilient future amid evolving conditions.

This study aims to determine the amount of lead exposure and investigate health hazards linked consumption leafy vegetables contaminated with cadmium. It focuses on a specific case conducted in southern region Northeast Thailand. Five types vegetables, including Chinese kale, cabbage, lettuce, parsley, were collected from Southern The vegetable 3,831 individuals was calculated. results showed that kale had highest average contamination (0.009±0.015 mg/kg DW), followed by cabbage (0.005±0.01 (0.004±0.003 lettuce (0.003±0.003 parsley (0.001±0.01 respectively. evaluation indicated margin safety values for ranged between 4.49731E-05 0.04550, suggesting no major risks. Based geographical information, lowest altitude 95 meters Warin Chamrap District Ubon Ratchathani Province, while 450 Pak Chong Chum Klat, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. Therefore, people Thailand should be encouraged cultivate their own based season, hydroponic systems utilized. is important assess monitor levels heavy metals intended consumptions potential adverse effects environment and, consequently, human health. When choosing it advisable consumers exercise prudence choose produce sourced reputable cultivation facilities. Additionally, prevent accumulation pollutants could result long-term effects, prudent vary intake. data obtained can used remediation techniques implement control measures metal vegetables.
