Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) represent a class of carcinogenic, teratogenic, and mutagenic organic pollutants that are ubiquitous in the environment. The rapid on-site detection PAHs remains challenge. This study proposes point-of-use (POU) surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS)-based strategies for qualitative quantitative analyses environmental water air. results demonstrate clear correlations between signal intensity logarithmic concentration (ranging from 2.5 to 100 ppb), with satisfactory recovery reproducibility. A similar trend was observed on glass fiber filters modified silver nanoparticles (AgNPs@GF filter). Specifically, limits (LOD) fluoranthene, phenanthrene, pyrene were 0.7, 1.0, 0.1 ppb, respectively, while LOD AgNPs@GF filter 9.11, 18.18, 14.59 ppb. Recovery rates spiked real ranged 83% 126%, entire process completed within 1 min. These findings highlight significant potential this method as powerful tool analysis various matrices.

Abstract The rising global temperatures due to climate change have a profound impact on health. Heat is associated with many physical and mental health conditions. of heat could be exacerbated in polluted areas the combined pollutants stress. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are among environmental public significance. Exposure PAHs has adverse effects these worse oil-impacted communities increased PAH exposure degradation. increases volatilisation PAHs, mobility availability formation toxic derivatives, possible wildfire incidents which introduce more into environment. This human through various pathways, addition stress, thereby worsening challenges. anticipated decrease levels reduced emissions offset by temperatures, promote mobilisation existing PAHs.
