In recent years, mangrove restoration has gained significant attention due to its carbon storage capacity, role as a pollution sink, and ecological economic benefits. Moreover, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals’ strategies include restoration. This review investigates status of research influence on trace metal accumulation, speciation, associated risks in sediments. Our analysis reveals that is increasing globally, with notable surge publications after 2017. However, fewer than 25 articles published between 2007 2024 address metals restored mangroves, indicating limited focus from researchers this topic. Research shows can quickly alter sediment properties, such texture, salinity, pH. As result, sediments tend accumulate higher organic content barren areas. Most studies also suggest accumulation sites non-restored speciation varies considerably local environmental factors. Furthermore, many may increase posed by aquatic biota. The challenges short study timeframes, low success rates, poorly defined targets, small-scale efforts, conflicts communities over resources benefits, insufficient government funding, lack historical data community health status.

Reducing carbon emissions and increasing sinks have become the core issues of international community. Although coastal blue ecosystems (such as mangroves, seagrass beds, salt marshes large algae) account for less than 0.5% seafloor area, they contain more 50% marine reserves, occupying an important position in global cycle. However, with rapid development economy continuous expansion human activities, wetlands suffered serious damage, their sequestration capacity has been greatly limited. Ecological restoration emerged a key measure to reverse this trend. Through series measures, including restoring hydrological conditions damaged wetlands, cultivating suitable plant species, effectively managing invasive species rebuilding habitats, ecological is committed functions service value. Therefore, paper first reviews research status influencing factors wetland sinks, discusses objectives, types measures various projects, analyzes impact these projects on sink function, proposes suggestions incorporating enhancement into restoration.

Abstract Coastal ecosystems are an important region for biogeochemical cycling, a hotspot of anthropogenic disturbance and play crucial role in global carbon cycling through the metabolic activities bacterioplankton. Bacterioplankton can be broadly classified into two lifestyles: free-living (FL) particle-attached (PA). However, how coastal bacterioplankton community structure, co-occurrence networks functions with different lifestyles differentiated is still largely unknown. Understanding these processes necessary to better determine contributions cycling. Here, characteristics structure metabolism function areas Guangdong Province were investigated using amplicon sequencing, metagenomic, metatranscriptomic techniques. The results show that main responsible Pseudomonadota , Bacteroidota Actinomycetota . microbial function, environmental preferences differ between lifestyles. FL PA bacteria exhibited higher fixation degradation potentials, respectively. A range factors, such as dissolved oxygen, pH, temperature, associated Human activities, nutrient discharge, may affect distribution functional genes enhance In conclusion, this study increased understanding microorganisms regulating export intense human activity.

Fishermen from Indonesia are uncertain whether the timing and placement of Belats (guiding barrier traps) affects their catch. To answer this question improve long-term viability productivity Belat fishery, study described catch composition, productivity, efficiency in Tanjung Batu Village, Kotabaru Regency, Indonesia. Two consisting a leader net, playground, chamber were used study: Belat-A was larger than Belat-B both length breadth. deployed at 2 km shoreline, while installed 1.5 away, starting 10 a.m. over 24-h 48-h period, respectively. Results showed that outperformed Belat-B, capturing twice number (970 versus 460) 1.6 times weight (92.6 kg 59.1 kg) across ten fish species between 14-50 cm total length. However, achieved similar rates half operational time, making it more time-efficient. All caught fresh marketable, method itself considered environmentally friendly. Several factors affected recommendation for upcoming studies also discussed.
