Severe cadmium contamination poses a serious threat to food security and human health. Plant–microbial combined remediation represents potential technique for reducing heavy metals in soil. The main objective of this study is explore the mechanism cadmium-contaminated soil using approach lawn plants microbes. target bacterium Bacillus cereus was selected from mining areas, two (Festuca arundinacea A‘rid III’ Poa pratensis M‘idnight II’) were chosen as plants. We investigated effect different concentrations bacterial solution on through pot experiments, well impact microbial community structure. results demonstrate that promotes plant growth, action improves quality, enhancing bioavailability At suspension concentration 105 CFU/mL, optimal treatment observed. removal efficiency under Festuca treatments reached 33.69% 33.33%, respectively. Additionally, content bioavailable rhizosphere increased by up 13.43% 26.54%, diversity non-rhizosphere both but reduced it relative abundance Actinobacteriota Firmicutes, which have metal remediation, after application solution. This demonstrates can enhance remediate reshape communities soils.

In the context of critical water quality issues, there is a pressing need for more pragmatic approaches to research. Adsorbent biomass, derived from abundant and effective natural sources, holds considerable promise as solution. E. crassipes, type plant has emerged particularly promising material due its high adsorption capacity. When combined with iron chloride, this capacity significantly enhanced, addition EDTA essential reuse treated water. The economic viability in treatment been thoroughly evaluated, project was developed aim building systems using crassipes biomass conjunction chloride. development process involved creation special composed 85% dried ground 15% scaled up most subsequent elutions EDTA. outlet conditions, quantity pollutant removed, volume were established, subsequently extraparticle diffusion constant Kf, intraparticle constant, characteristic isotherm determined. identification model, Ks, made possible by results which indicated specific route construction pilot-scale system. prototype constructed 1000 g EC (2) (850 150 chloride iron). present investigation could be used treat effluents contaminated heavy metals, especially chromium, an advanced environmental research that contributes improvement quality.

Chromium exists from both natural geological processes and human actions, it has a substantial impact on health ecosystems. This study addresses the major challenges in using biochar as an environmentally friendly, sustainable, economical sorbent for removing chromium hexavalent throughout remediation process. The results exhibited that produced non-woody feedstocks pyrolyzed at (300°C −700°C) significantly large amount of various functional groups, higher pH (7 to 11.10) CEC (27 21.70 cmol kg−1), greater surface area (2–300 m2g−1), O/C H/C ratios with increasing carbonization temperature, adsorption capacities (1.63 435 mg g) superior performance removal compared biochars woody-biomass. use equilibrium isotherm, thermodynamic, kinetic models aids comprehending interactions between biochar, well their processes.

Study’s Novelty/Excerpt This study presents comprehensive overview of the roles various bacterial genera, including Alcaligens, Achromobacter, and Bacillus, in biosorption chromium from contaminated soils, highlighting specific factors influencing efficiency. It uniquely addresses optimization environmental conditions such as pH, temperature, nutrient availability to enhance large-scale processes, bridging gaps noted previous literature regarding scalability biosorption. Additionally, manuscript underscores necessity for further research biotechnology molecular engineering fully harness potential remediation, presenting a forward-looking perspective on advancing this bioremediation strategy. Full Abstract Chromium possesses detrimental effects health both plants animals. Biosorption is process where biological materials (bacteria, fungi, algae, or agricultural waste) are used remove pollutants sites. Conventional methods remediating heavy metal-contaminated excavation chemical treatment, expensive disruptive, making them less desirable. Factors efficiency promising approaches involving bacteria metals Chromium, lead, nickel, cadmium, arsenic, etc., soil. Some genera involved include Acinetobacter, Alteromonas, Arthrobacter, Burkholderia, Enterobacter, Flavobacterium, Pseudomonas. These can adsorb biotransform into toxic forms. concentration, surface compositions, metal ion characteristics, soil composition. Challenges associated with using biosorption, outlined literature, slowness fact that it may not be suitable application, even though many other authors have proven its applicability large scale. Also, key quality needed biosorbent must tolerating metals. Another area focus current optimizing conditions, availability, achieve more efficient at larger highlighted strategy Conclusively, has great use Chromium- realize potential, especially engineering.
