Greenhouse gases such as methane will be generated from the landfilling of municipal waste. The emissions noxious gas landfills and other waste disposal areas can present a significant hazard to environment health population if not properly controlled. In order have harmful controlled mitigate environmental pollution, extent which transported into air at some time in future must estimated. emission estimates (inventories) are combined with atmospheric observations modeling techniques. this work, large eddy simulation (LES) is used determine dispersion atmosphere distances landfill. modeled an active scalar, diffuses landfill given mass flux. Boussinesq approximation has been embed effect buoyancy momentum equation. A logarithmic velocity profile model wind velocity. results far field show that mean concentration rms methane, appropriately scaled, self-similar functions certain combination coordinates. Furthermore, LES fit parameters Gaussian plume model. This result optimize placement receptors reduce their numbers far-field region, improve costs.

Abstract The increase in population has the effect of increasing amount waste generated. Pangkalan Kerinci Timur generates 30.192 kg/day waste. However, officers can collect only 70% produced. a direct individual collection system. Waste generated by community will be taken directly dump truck to landfill. condition some settlement patterns located on narrow roads or alleys, causes system experience obstacles because trucks cannot reach sources that is not transported often burned avoid accumulation. In addition, an irregular schedule. irregularity due lack fleet. This research was conducted analyze system’s effectiveness, determine pattern, time route, and need for vehicles. results effectiveness calculation show percentage level service 71%. basis determining appropriate adding new routes, times, Based overlay results, applied are communal patterns. Ghana Tamale’s current waste management system is overwhelmed by the growing crisis, necessitating exploration of Waste-to-Energy technologies (WtE) as an innovative solution. This study explores challenges and opportunities for integrating WtE into existing system. Qualitative research identified policy hurdles, financial constraints, social concerns, institutional weaknesses key barriers. Conversely, stakeholder collaboration, public education, capacity building emerged some success factors. A proposed implementation plan emphasizes feasibility studies, engagement, public–private partnerships (PPPs), technology selection based on composition. Additionally, a novel framework integration within broader Integrated Solid Waste Management (ISWM) presented. incorporates sorting, recycling, alternatives, responsible residuals. Validation stakeholders confirmed framework’s potential to improve in Tamale. By overcoming implementing framework, Tamale can achieve environmental sustainability, energy generation, progress towards UN SDGs 7, 11, 12. offers valuable insights policymakers paves way cleaner more sustainable future Tamale, potentially serving model other developing cities.
