Microcystin-LR (MC-LR), a class of cyclic heptapeptide compounds synthesized by cyanobacterial species, presents significant risk to ecological systems and public health. Exposure MC-LR was found induce damage various organs. One the target organ affected is gastrointestinal tract (GIT). However, majority studies regarding GIT focused on colorectal toxicity, with little attention paid small intestinal toxic injuries, in particular jejunum. Thus, aim this study investigate effects attributed exposure apoptosis underlying mechanisms utilizing mouse jejunum injury model following chronic low-dose treatment. A total 40 C57BL/6 male mice were randomly divided into 4 groups each group receiving drinking water containing 0, 1, 60, or 120 µg/L for duration 12 months. Results indicated that induced pathological alterations jejunal tissue as evidenced abnormal villous serration, crypt disorganization, lymphocyte infiltration. TUNEL assays demonstrated increase apoptotic cell count 60 groups. The treatment exhibited elevated mRNA expression Bax accompanied reduction Bcl-2. protein levels cleaved caspase-3 markedly p-RAF p-ERK significantly increased Data suggest RAF/ERK signaling pathway may be involved MC-LR- apoptosis.

Abstract Environmental pollution represents a significant public health concern, with the potential risks associated environmental pollutants receiving considerable attention over an extended period. In recent years, substantial body of research has been dedicated to this topic. Since discovery ferroptosis, iron-dependent programmed cell death typically characterized by lipid peroxidation, in 2012, there have advances study its role and mechanism various diseases. A growing number studies also demonstrated involvement ferroptosis damage caused organism pollutants, molecular mechanisms involved partially elucidated. The targeting be effective means ameliorating PM2.5, organic inorganic ionizing radiation. This review begins providing summary most important ferroptosis. It then proceeds offer critical analysis effects induced pollutants. Furthermore, as is case all rapidly evolving areas, are numerous unanswered questions challenges pertaining pollutant-induced which we discuss attempt provide some directions clues for future field.

Toxic cyanobacterial species occur in aquatic ecosystems when favourable environmental conditions prevail. These bacteria can produce natural hepatotoxic metabolites called microcystins that affect the quality of water. Human exposure to results from ingesting contaminated drinking water and therefore producing these toxins should be monitored waters. The present study aimed trace identify strains potentially To achieve this objective, advanced digital flow cytometry polymerized chain reaction were used for detection identification samples collected storage containers Mawoni village. Full-length 16S rRNA genes cultured cyanobacteria amplified sequenced using primers. Three novel Chroococcus sp. (m64187e-7881, m64187e-2143, m64187e-0930) two Microcystis aeruginosa (m64187e-6729 m64187e-1069) detected identified samples. presence could indicate potential occurrence water, which therefore, human health risk due such cyanotoxins.
