Fulvic acid, the most soluble and active humic substance, is widely used as an agent to remediate contaminated soils improve soil fertility. However, influence of fulvic acid (FA), a microbial carbon source, on nitrogen cycles in paddy remains elusive. Therefore, investigate it, incubation experiment was conducted. Gas analyses indicated that dioxide methane emissions were enhanced FA treatment, which increased up 94.08-fold 5.06-fold, respectively. 15N-labeling experiments revealed fixation capability promoted (1.2-fold) reduce imbalance due amendment. Metagenomic analysis further gene abundances degradation lignin-like compounds, gallate degradation, methanogenesis, fixation, urea hydrolysis increased, while bacterial ammonia oxidation anaerobic ammonium decreased, caused by application. Metabolic reconstruction metagenome-assembled genomes Azospirillaceae, Methanosarcinaceae, Bathyarchaeota, with higher abundance key microorganisms maintain balance. The metabolic pathways coupled retention constructed. Collectively, our results provided novel insights into theoretical basis use substances for reducing fertilization climate change.
