Biodegradable mulch films (BMFs) are becoming increasingly popular in agricultural practices. However, research on the ecological impact of biodegradable pepper–soil systems is still scarce. To compare differential effects BMFs and polyethylene (PE) soil chemical properties, bacterial community composition, pepper cultivation, a study was conducted encompassing eight distinct treatments. These treatments included three varieties polybutylene adipate terephthalate (PBAT) combined with polylactic acid (PLA) mulches: PP-JL, PP-SD, PP-SH; black polypropylene carbonate (PPC-BK); brown PPC (PPC-BR); mulch; straw mulching (NCK); an uncovered control (PCK). After applying mulches for 129 days, most PBAT + PLA had reached rupture phase, whereas PE film induction phase. Pepper yield obviously higher all mulched (4830 kg hm−1) than un-mulched (3290 hm−1), especially BMF PP-JL treatment, which showed notable improvements yield. Although maintained lower temperature mulch, they were control. Furthermore, composition network not markedly affected by different conditions. PP-SH treatment significantly increased abundance Pseudomonas, Nitrosomonas, Streptomyces genera. Background/Objectives: Chemical fumigation can effectively inhibit the occurrence of soil-borne diseases; however, this approach negatively affect structure soil microbial community.
