Abstract The benefit of real‐world applicable indicators in resolving robust traffic‐related source contributions was investigated using tunnel measurement. PM 2.5 /CO introduced as a metric to present evidence non‐exhaust identification indirectly terms accumulation and dilution scenarios, the rates (hourly variation difference between /CO) were 0.59−1.88 −0.79 −0.65, corresponding peak off‐peak hours, respectively. Real‐world PAHs examined, among which exhaust showed stable applicability from BghiP, indication noted by BkF DahA hours largely weakened showing noticeable profile mixing exhaust, brake tyre wear. Source resolved principal component analysis (PCA) with support linear discriminant (LDA) on inter‐group centroid diagnosis. rate vehicular (brake wear) contribution lifted 10.3 times compared its emission factor noticeably enhanced 16 times, 0.03 mg/(km·veh) 0.48 mg/(km·veh). Guided global vehicle electrification, emissions estimated increase larger ratio growing market share electric vehicles, under each mode regenerative braking. monetary impact caused vehicles calculated reaching when 50% busy commuting megacities. results provide for accurate apportionment data refined control rapid electrification.

Non-exhaust emissions have become an increasingly important issue as their levels continue to rise and the health effects of particulate matter (PM) are more widely discussed. To address this issue, a vehicle demonstrator with integrated emission reduction tires brakes was developed part Zero Emission Drive Unit Generation-1 (ZEDU-1) project. This novel concept includes removal tire road wear particles (TRWP) strong ventilation/filtering system enclosed multi-disk brake, making it suitable tool for investigation non-exhaust emissions. Particle number (PN) particle size distribution (PSD) measurements down 2.5 nm were performed on chassis dynamometer test track. Due low background concentrations dynamometer, is possible distinguish between brake characterize even small It could be shown that about 30 % less emitted by vehicle, when using instead conventional brake. The highest TRWP collected during acceleration harsh braking. Characterization scanning electron microscopy (SEM) energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) revealed diverse shapes differences generated

This research studied the morphological and elemental composition of roadside dust at an academic institution in Perlis using Dust Fall Jar method. Samples were collected from three spots, two beside main road near one control environment area, within a radius 1000 meters as spot. for five consecutive days then analyzed SEM-EDX. The SEM-EDX analysis revealed that particles exhibited varied shapes uneven surfaces. Plant debris tire wear have been identified sources fibrous, elongated, rounded micrometer-sized particles. Minerals, heavy metals, carbon-containing also found. investigation notable elements institution, irregularly shaped particle which might be composed minerals, soil, or even materials, commonly found environments. other element is aluminum oxide by characteristic morphology observed image are cylindrical structures matrix could various such carbon-based materials inorganic compounds. study highlights necessity implementing efficient environmental management solutions.
