The rapid evolution of smart city technologies has expanded digital twin (DT) applications from industrial to urban contexts. However, current twins (UDTs) remain predominantly focused on the physical aspects environments (“spaces”), often overlooking interwoven social dimensions that shape concept “place”. This limitation restricts their ability fully represent complex interplay between and systems in settings. To address this gap, paper introduces (SDT), which integrates into UDTs bridge divide technological lived experience. Drawing an extensive literature review, study defines key components for transitioning SDTs, including conceptualization modeling human interactions (geo-individuals geo-socials), applications, participatory governance, community engagement. Additionally, it identifies essential analytical tools implementing outlines research gaps practical challenges, proposes a framework integrating dynamics within UDTs. emphasizes importance active participation through governance model offers comprehensive methodology support researchers, technology developers, policymakers advancing SDT applications.

Since Facebook officially changed its name to Meta in Oct. 2021, the metaverse has become a new norm of social networks and three-dimensional (3D) virtual worlds. The aims bring 3D immersive personalized experiences users by leveraging many pertinent technologies. Despite great attention benefits, natural question is how secure users' digital content data. In this regard, blockchain promising solution owing distinct features decentralization, immutability, transparency. To better understand role metaverse, we aim provide an extensive survey on applications for metaverse. We first present preliminary highlight motivations behind use Next, extensively discuss blockchain-based methods from technical perspectives, such as data acquisition, storage, sharing, interoperability, privacy preservation. For each perspective, challenges then can help. Moreover, investigate impact key-enabling technologies including Internet-of-Things, twins, multi-sensory applications, artificial intelligence, big also some major projects showcase services. The 21st century has seen rapid changes in technology, industry, and social patterns. Recent technological developments, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, edge, and cloud computing, have paved way in transforming traditional healthcare systems into smart (SHC) systems. SHC escalates management with increased efficiency, convenience, personalization, via use wearable devices connectivity, to access information rapid responses. Wearable are equipped multiple sensors identify a person's movements. The unlabeled data acquired from these directly trained servers, which require vast memory high computational costs. To overcome this limitation SHC, we propose federated learning-based person movement identification (FL-PMI). deep reinforcement learning (DRL) framework is leveraged FL-PMI for auto-labeling data. then using (FL), edge servers allow parameters alone pass on cloud, rather than passing amounts sensor Finally, bidirectional long short-term (BiLSTM) classifies various processes associated SHC. simulation results proved efficiency FL-PMI, 99.67% accuracy scores, minimized usage costs, reduced transmission by 36.73%.
