Abstract The objective of this study is to examine the impact government environmental concerns on green innovation and whether has a “leverage effect” or “crowding‐out effect.” This employs two‐way fixed‐effects model conduct an empirical test using panel data from 2010 2020 Chinese firms listed in heavy‐polluting industries. results suggest that increase can promote corporate innovation.
