Temporal analysis of settlement areas and city footprints on construction and demolition waste quantification using Landsat satellite imagery

Municipal solid waste management has seen a surge in the use of satellite imagery decision-making processes, yet its application to analyze quantitative variations construction and demolition (C&D) remains under-investigated. This study employs multivariate analysis comprehensively assess predict C&D generation four diverse urban jurisdictions Canada (Regina) USA (Seattle, Buffalo, Philadelphia). Factors such as settlement area expansion, economic activities, population growth significantly influence rates. The Price of Quietness: How a Pandemic Affects City Dwellers’ Response to Road Traffic Noise

The pandemic of COVID-19 has transformed the way people live and work, their willingness to pay for quietness. Using outbreak in Singapore as a quasi- natural experiment, we investigate tenants’ changing responses road traffic noise rental housing market, using 46,980 transaction records between 2006 2022. By constructing threshold zones by distance main roads, first empirically identify treatment vs. control groups exposure noise.
