ABSTRACT The aberrant behavior of lipid droplets (LDs) is often indicative cellular dysfunction, which may contribute to the development a range diseases, particularly metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and atherosclerosis (AS). Consequently, there an urgent need develop fluorescence probes targeting LDs monitor progression disease. In this study, unanticipated one‐pot boron tribromide (BBr₃)/boron trichloride (BCl₃)‐promoted cyclization reaction was discovered, yielding bromo‐/chloro‐substituted triphenylamine (TPA) derivative ( TPA‐Br / TPA‐Cl ). successfully transformed into new TPA‐containing donor‐acceptor (D–A) molecules show typical aggregation induced emission (AIE) property. Among these AIE emitters, TPA‐N shows most promising specificity, lowest toxicity best photo‐stability. Ex vivo studies further demonstrate that can be used image fatty AS plaque quickly effectively.

Ferroptosis, a recently proposed form of regulated cell death, is characterized by surge in reactive oxygen species and subsequent depletion glutathione. The mitochondria nucleoli play pivotal roles the process ferroptosis. Therefore, monitoring interactions between during ferroptosis crucial for clarifying its physiological pathological processes. In this study, we designed synthesized near-infrared fluorescence probe MINU, which exhibits excellent stability against biological ions pH environments. Due to cationic structure good DNA affinity, MINU can target both nucleoli. Cell imaging demonstrates that reversibly migrate response changes mitochondrial membrane potential. By detecting localization intensity signals, effectively distinguish normal cell, apoptotic ferroptotic cell. Monitoring allows us more accurately appreciate processes
