Nowadays the pace of production and consumption is reaching environmentally unsustainable levels. In this regard, great technological advances developed in recent years are postulated as a source opportunities to boost circular economy sustainable development. This wide range possibilities offered by new technologies create more reality has aroused curiosity interest academic world, especially years. The main objective research reveal challenges that arise when incorporating objectives economy. Regarding methodology, study been partially supported using bibliometric techniques. results highlight transformative role technologies, blockchain artificial intelligence, advancing economy, with particular emphasis on community technology integration, ethical considerations, synergies, business models, burgeoning bioeconomy. We conclude promise enhanced resource efficiency, optimized supply chains, innovative improved product lifecycle management, offering profound economic environmental benefits while fostering collaborative innovation. However, these also represent address, such integrating advanced methods, ensuring chain transparency, overcoming skill gap, avoiding data centralization, adapting regulatory frameworks foster equitable growth. These some most important areas for further research, those related development employees' capabilities adaptation frameworks, they understudied gaps.

Abstract The adoption of Industry 4.0's digital technologies can enable the implementation circular economy practices. Nonetheless, current indications for industrial practitioners on how to exploit broad set transition appear unclear. This issue is even more challenging small and medium enterprises, which are typically endowed with limited resources than larger firms characterised by both a divide. present study contributes academic debate offering an exploratory empirical analysis—based semi‐structured interviews—that involved 10 Italian enterprises deepen knowledge supporting role played in implementing practices also considering potential synergies among such technologies. Results interest decision‐makers, allowing them their firms' towards those that could be effective foster transition.

Abstract This study employs dynamic capability view theory to comprehend the interplay between big data analytics (BDAC), responsible research and innovation (RRI) circular economy practices (CEPs) as an execution strategy for improving environmental performance. The uses partial least square structural equation modelling analyse primary survey collected from 326 manufacturers. results indicate that BDAC, RRI CEPs favourably affect Notably, emerges most influential factor among three. Furthermore, findings suggest implementing serves a mediator influence of BDAC on Surprisingly, finds moderating impact resource commitment is not statistically significant in any three pairwise interactions involving with respect have various intriguing implications how manufacturers can enhance their strategies achieve better performance, representing noteworthy contribution foundational view. Finally, these also provide valuable insights managers, enabling deeper understanding determinants contribute deploying performance within manufacturing setting.

Abstract Interorganizational collaboration and the use of new digital technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data analytics, internet things (IoT), or blockchain technology, are regarded key enablers in implementing sustainability circular economy‐oriented practices. While this is reflected a few conceptual case studies, statistical analyses on topic rare. No study so far has focused collaboration, technologies have only been studied isolation. Therefore, purpose to investigate effect interorganizational practices firm's economy outcomes (sustainability performance economic performance), well potentially facilitative role both. The research based deductive approach, using random sample 112 Austrian manufacturing companies. employs partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS‐SEM), features multiple‐respondent design, uses dynamic capabilities view theoretical foundation. finds that strong positive implementation CE practices, while general do not. positively affects serve an antecedent for both collaboration. Regarding implementation, impact firm‐level performance. From point view, provides perspective prerequisites successful highlights importance contextualizes capabilities. practical found, supports arguments favor company engagement activity. Several digital technologies are available to facilitate the transition toward a circular supply chain infrastructure. Small-Medium Enterprises (SMEs) should assess their readiness and measure performance select most appropriate technology. This study explores how well-established such as Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud Manufacturing (CM), Big Data Analytics (BDA) impact infrastructure in SMEs. Questionnaires have been distributed collect employees' preferences concerning management criteria (profit, innovation, sustainability, optimization). The responses organized into three clusters using Principal Component Analysis (PCA). A fuzzy Technique for Order Performance by Similarity Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) technique is adopted evaluate these since it constitutes reliable managerial tool when vagueness impacts smooth operation chain. Results indicate ranking order investigated (CPS>IoT>CM>BDA) well benefits attributes imparted upon implementing technologies. Such provided on economy. Lastly, perspective selection process affected other factors, enterprise's extroversion level its internal structure, discussed.
