The exploration of mycelium material as an alternative to petroleum-based or leather products in textiles is gaining momentum, evident the extensive research documented literature. This study, part MY-FI project funded by EU, focused on developing a bio-based for fashion and automotive prototypes. objective offer comprehensive view patent landscape, identifying key contributors technologies while assessing material's potential applications. analysis categorized patents according biofabrication processes, wet processing, applications sectors, pinpointing areas demanding further exploration. In analysis, approximately 5000 were evaluated 28 identified PatSnap© platform be most relevant ones. searches main players indicated that area mycelium-based growing field where new are constantly willing enter this emerging market. Predominantly, USA, EU China have been leading way protecting inventions number expected increase. By delving into research, product creators can discern field's grasp associated risks.

Given the current growth in consumer environmental concerns, this study assessed green customers' consumption value for mango waste-based vegan leather bags. The values and market choices theories guided semi-structured interviews grounded theory-based induction data gathering analysis. project provides lasting answers theoretical insights bags waste management. five main are functional, social, emotional, conditional, epistemic. Ten consumption-related topics emerged. Vegan were valued their durability multifunctionality by shoppers. also show that social media, family, peers impact sustainable product selections. For purses created from waste, beautiful design customization, behavior, convenience, experience emotional conditional values. Green openness to information can drive them buy bags, revealed.

Abstract This research investigates a novel method for cultivating mycelium-based leather substitutes using carefully formulated paste consistency substrate. The primary objectives are to enhance nutrient availability, facilitate scalability, and streamline cultivation processes. study spans 21-day period, during which flower-based medium is employed, eliminating the need labor-intensive harvesting techniques. Two fungal species, Ganoderma lucidum (rishi) Pleurotus djamor (pink oyster) tested assess their compatibility with growth method. These species were chosen based on rapid colonization rates inherent resilience. investigation delves into various combinations of crosslinking agents, including glycerol (a plasticizer), commercial tanner, citric acid, magnesium sulfate. effects these agents tensile strength compared qualitative data analyzed through use scanning electron microscopy (SEM) stereo microscopy. Furthermore, explores fabrication potential non-woven textiles derived from mycelium, emphasizing suitability as eco-friendly alternatives. Scaled prototypes highlighted demonstrate feasibility. Post-treatment processes, such dyeing bio-based dyes acrylic paint, evaluated aesthetic impact. contributes biodegradable material alternative that addresses environmental challenges high textile consumption. findings add growing body sustainable design methods in realm leather-like materials bio-design.

Black cabuya (Agave cordillerensis) is a rosette plant that easily found in the inter-Andean zone of Ecuador and used for therapeutic food purposes. Since ancient times, mechanical treatments have been to obtain fibers, which are generally manufacture ropes, sacks, thin fabric production. In this research, high percentage fiber black was leather substitute. For treatment fiber, technique using blows used, noted being economical since it not necessary perform bleaching process on obtained fiber. formulation substitute, different percentages were (30%, 50% 60%), addition, distribution taken into consideration (random, 45º 90º) make fabric, covered by mixture resins (RD-A RD-U). The best polyester with thickness 0.05 mm, woven completely at random 0.03 mm 25 ml RD-A RD-U resins. Mechanical tests elongation, lastometry tension carried out product. results demonstrated suitable raw material obtaining substitute since, production process, environmental pollution considerably minimized.
