The potential of a voltametric E-tongue coupled with custom data pre-processing stage to improve the performance machine learning techniques for rapid discrimination tomato purées between cultivars different economic value has been investigated. To this aim, sensor array screen-printed carbon electrodes modified gold nanoparticles (GNP), copper (CNP) and bulk subsequently poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT), was developed acquire be transformed by pipeline then processed set commonly used classifiers. GNP CNP-modified electrodes, selected based on their sensitivity soluble monosaccharides, demonstrated good ability in discriminating samples cultivars. Among analysis methods tested, Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) proved particularly suitable, obtaining an average F1 score 99.26%. beneficial reducing number input features, decreasing computational cost, i.e., computing operations performed, entire method aiding future cost-efficient hardware implementation. These findings that coupling multi-sensing platform featuring properly sensors LDA provided optimal tradeoff analytical problem solving reliable chemical information, as well accuracy complexity. results can preliminary design solutions could embedded into low-cost portable devices.
