Walnut shells were used to produce highly microporous activated carbon. The prepared walnut found be an efficient adsorbent for removing Cr(VI). study the response surface methodology investigate four independent variables effect: Cr(VI) concentration, pH, AC-Ws dose, and temperature on removal efficiency, which was studied in concentration range of 0.1 0.3 g/L, 4 10, 15 35 °C 1 5 mg/L, respectively. This research introduces a novel approach to repurposing walnut shells, an abundant agricultural waste, for the synthesis of sustainable nitrogen-doped activated carbon (N@AC). The resulting material exhibits remarkable properties suitable dual applications in high-performance all-solid-state supercapacitors and efficient Rhodamine B dye (RhB) adsorption. In three-electrode setup, N@AC electrode impressive specific capacitance 484.6 F g-1 at 1 A long-term stability, maintaining 97.4% its initial performance even after 5000 charge-discharge cycles. Simultaneously, symmetric supercapacitor configuration (N@AC//N@AC) demonstrates outstanding capacitance, registering 168.8 g-1, accompanied by favourable rate capability 67.3% 10 g-1. Notably, N@AC//N@AC attains high energy density 39.8 WhKg−1 Furthermore, cyclic retaining 83.91% 10,000 Moreover, adsorption efficiency toward RhB is scrutinized, highlighting efficacy addressing environmental remediation challenges. porous architecture nitrogen functionalities play crucial role expeditiously eliminating organic pollutants from aqueous solutions, offering treating wastewater. Optimal conditions highest are identified: pH 7.2, contact duration 180 min, concentration 20 mgL−1. Thermodynamic evaluations, encompassing determination ΔH◦, ΔS◦, signify endothermic spontaneous nature process. desorption investigations, it noted that H2O, employed as eluting agent, proficiently releases 87.35% adsorbed dye.

Low-concentration Au(S2O3)23− recovery is an urgent issue to facilitate the application of thiosulfate leaching instead cyanide in factories. Herein, this work presents a novel low-concentration combining adsorption and electrodeposition (electroreduction) realize high form gold particles (Au0). Walnut shells were used as raw material for successful preparation charcoal with porous structure rich oxygen-containing functional groups. shell (WSC) electrode achieved efficient Au(S2O3)23−. The under conditions was higher than 90%, highest reduction 46.97 mg·g−1. Applying suitable low voltage (0.8 V) facilitated recovery, which immensely improved that without voltage. performances applied via WSC related electrochemical abilities, including reaction intensity charge transfer. More reactive sites containing pores oxygen groups beneficial reaction. This offers new way recover cheap electrodes from solutions cyanide-free method industry.

Walnuts are high in protein content and rich nutrients susceptible to oxidation during production processing, leading a decrease the stability of walnut emulsions. In this paper, effect alkyl peroxyl radical on emulsions is investigated. With increase 2,2-azobis (2-methylpropionamidine) dihydrochloride (AAPH) concentration, both its fat were oxidized different degrees, droplets emulsion first dispersed then aggregated as seen from laser confocal, was best at AAPH concentration 0.2 mmol/L. addition this, adsorption rate adsorbed proteins showed decreasing an increasing trend with concentration. The results that moderate (AAPH concentration: 0–0.2 mmol/L) promoted flexibility interfacial tension, droplet size stability, excessive 1–25 mmmol/L) weakened electrostatic repulsion, making less stable. study provide theoretical references for quality control

Abstract The purpose of this article is to investigate the effects walnut ( Juglans regia L.) kernel pellicle on composition and properties enzymatic hydrolysis products meal using peptidomics bioinformatics. In study, a total 3423 peptide sequences were identified in peeled protein hydrolysates (PWPH) unpeeled (UWPH). Due presence pellicle, enzyme cleavage sites alkaline proteases precursor proteins altered, resulting differences number length peptides obtained. Principal component analysis indicates significant between PWPH UWPH. Combined with bioinformatics analysis, it was shown that peeling improved release peptides, formed more bioactive reduced allergenicity, water solubility. Seven acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitory activity identified, Val‐Gly‐Ala‐Pro‐Phe‐Asp‐Gly‐Ala (VGAPFDGA) has strongest an IC 50 0.38 ± 0.01 mg/mL. These results confirmed could greatly change hydrolysates, seven novel reported showed AChE activity.
