Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) have been used in industrial consumer applications for ages. The pervasive persistent nature of PFAS the environment is a universal concern due to public health risks. Experts acknowledge that exposure high levels certain consequences, including reduced vaccine efficacy, elevated cholesterol, increased risk blood pressure. While considerable research has conducted investigate presence environment, pathways human through food packaging/contact materials (FCM) remain unclear. In this review, we present an exhaustive overview dietary PFAS. Also, mechanism migration from FCMs into occurrence foods were considered. Further, analytical techniques matrices as well impacts. recent regulatory actions working set standards guidelines packaging highlighted. Alternative being developed evaluated their safety efficacy contact applications, offering promising alternatives also Finally, reported on general considerations perspectives presently

ABSTRACT Nigeria faces significant environmental and health risks due to rapid Waste Electrical Electronics Equipment (WEEE) generation, estimated at 500,000 tons annually. This systematic review analyses the situation of WEEE in Nigeria, examining existing policies, regulations, emerging technologies for sustainable recycling. The analysis reveals gaps legislation, inadequate infrastructure, primitive recycling methods, resulting severe pollution risks. Emerging technologies, such as waste‐to‐energy conversion, circular economy approaches, offer potential solutions. evaluates these technologies' effectiveness sustainability Nigerian context. Recommendations policy reforms, technological innovations, stakeholder engagement are provided inform evidence‐based decision‐making promote practices Nigeria.

Heavy metals pose a significant threat to public health and economic stability in Ethiopia, contaminating various environmental media, including water, soil, air. This paper aimed provide an overview of the burden heavy Ethiopia. Exposure such as lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic has been linked numerous adverse effects, neurological disorders, renal failure, cardiovascular diseases, cancer. In populations are particularly vulnerable metal exposure due factors, artisanal mining, industrial activities, agricultural practices, inadequate waste management systems. The contamination manifests through increased healthcare costs, loss productivity, remediation expenses. Furthermore, impact extends sectors agriculture tourism, affecting national development goals exacerbating poverty levels. Efforts mitigate burdens Ethiopia require multidisciplinary approaches, policy interventions, regulatory enforcement, awareness campaigns, investment sustainable practices. Strengthening monitoring systems, implementing pollution control measures, promoting research on alternative technologies for essential steps toward addressing this pressing issue. conclusion, challenges posed by necessitates concerted efforts from government, industry, academia, civil society safeguard human health, preserve environment, promote development.

Drug residues that contaminate food and water represent a serious concern for human health. The major concerns regard the possible irrational use of these contaminants, since this might increase amplitude exposure. Multiple sources contribute to overall exposure including agriculture, domestic use, personal, public veterinary healthcare, increasing origin contamination. In review, we focus on crop pesticides drug because their extensive in modern agriculture farming, which ensures production security ever-growing population around world. We discuss with respect worldwide distribution impacts, special attention harmful effects reproduction embryo development, as well link epigenetic alterations, leading intergenerational transgenerational diseases. Among most commonly implicated causing such disorders are organophosphates, glyphosate antibiotics, tetracyclines being frequently reported. This review highlights importance finding new management strategies drugs. Moreover, due still limited knowledge inter- underlie need strengthen research field, so better clarify specific each contaminant long-term impact.

The rapid growth of the Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) industry has led to an increase in Waste (WEEE) generation Nigeria. informal sector plays a significant role WEEE recycling, but unsustainable practices pose environmental health risks. Unsustainable EEE recycling Nigeria's result pollution, hazards, economic losses. lack regulation, inadequate infrastructure, limited awareness exacerbate problem, putting recyclers, communities, environment at risk. This review synthesizes existing literature on impacts sector. Informal Nigeria are characterized by primitive techniques, such as burning dismantling, leading air, water, soil pollution. Cultural socioeconomic factors influence collection, require region-specific approaches. availability technical capacity, resources differs across regions, affecting feasibility proposed solutions. By acknowledging these factors, findings from Nigerian context can be adapted applied other contributing more comprehensive understanding management challenges solutions globally.
