Increasing evidence on the adverse health impacts of microplastics (MPs) is available, but their associated risks to well-being humans and long-term are poorly understood. An indicator remote effects MPs may be influence rate aging. To assess aging process, we used accelerated senescence OXYS rats that develop a complex geriatric diseases. We prepared polyethylene terephthalate (2-6 microns in size) Wistar (maternal strain) assessed chronic administration (10 or 100 mg/kg per day from age 1.5 3.5 months,) hematological biochemical blood parameters, spatial learning, memory. In addition, development cataracts retinopathy, similar age-related macular degeneration (AMD), were assessed. found absence significant changes standard clinical MP negatively affected cognitive functions both rats. Additionally, dose contributed cataract AMD progression Our results suggest increase and, long term, lifespan.

Introduction Global microplastic (MP) pollution is now well recognized, with humans and animals consuming inhaling MPs on a daily basis, growing body of concern surrounding the potential impacts human health. Methods Using mouse model mild COVID-19, we describe herein effects azide-free 1 μm polystyrene MP beads, co-delivered into lungs SARS-CoV-2 omicron BA.5 inoculum. The effect host response to infection was analysed using histopathology RNA-Seq at 2 6 days post-infection (dpi). Results Although reduced clearance from lung, virus titres viral RNA levels were not significantly affected by MPs, overt MP-associated clinical or histopathological changes observed. However, infected revealed that exposure suppressed innate immune responses dpi increased pro-inflammatory signatures dpi. cytokine profile showed significant correlation ‘cytokine release syndrome’ signature observed in some COVID-19 patients. Discussion findings are consistent recent finding can inhibit phagocytosis apoptotic cells via binding Tim4. They also add literature suggesting dysregulate inflammatory processes specific disease settings.

Pregnancy is a particularly vulnerable period for the growing fetus, when exposure to toxic agents, especially in early phases, can decisively harm embryo development and compromise future health of newborn. The inclusion various chemical substances personal care products (PCPs) cosmetic formulations be associated with disruption damage nervous system. Microplastics, benzophenones, parabens, phthalates metals are among most common found cosmetics that have been shown induce neurotoxic mechanisms. Although neurotoxin believed minimal, different scenarios suggest these neurotoxins remain threat. Special attention should paid first weeks gestation, critical processes, like migration proliferation neural crest derived cells, start form ENS. Importantly, cross placental barrier affect embryo, but they also secreted breast milk, so babies exposed longer periods, even after birth. In this review, we explore how contained PCPs may role pathogenesis neurodevelopmental disorders neurodegenerative diseases and, therefore, congenital enteric aganglionosis as well postnatal motility disorders. Understanding mechanisms chemicals used their neurotoxicity crucial determining safety use during pregnancy.

Objective: Subarachnoid hemorrhage has high mortality and substantial long-term morbidity. Although SARS-CoV-2 infection is associated with hypercoagulopathy, patients may also present subarachnoid hemorrhage. We aimed to synthesize the clinical paraclinical characteristics, treatment responses, outcomes of this neurologic complication. Methods: The population included adults children, studies investigated hemorrhagein context infection. prospective, retrospective, observational, or interventional studies. systematically reviewed LitCOVID COVID-19 WHO database until February 2023, following a published protocol. Results are presented in tabular form provide descriptive summary findings. Results: 107 (30 aneurysmal SAH—aSAH, 52 non-aSAH confirmed by vascular imaging, 25 without imaging). was concomitant developed few weeks after Severity ranged from asymptomatic (27.8% aSAH, 5.5% non-aSAH) severe (50% 75% non-aSAH). Patients inflammatory markers (25% 81%non-aSAH), thrombocytopenia (12.5% 28.6% non-aSAH), impaired coagulation (0% reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) cerebrospinal fluid negative seven patients. Brain samples were positive for one case. Conclusions: An inadequate response change size morphology, rupture tendency. Renine–angiotensine–aldosteron system disruption hypertension cough increases pressure on walls. Furthermore, mycotic dissecting aneurysms reported. Non-aSAH accompanies infection-related complications such as cerebral venous sinus thrombosis, reversible vasoconstriction syndrome, posterior encephalopathy intracerebral Cytokine release endothelial dysfunction, affinity angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 receptors induce vasculitic processes. Cough precipitates arterial dissection. Hypoxic brain injury, immune thrombocytopenia, some medications increase bleeding risks.
