Daphnetin exerts certain pharmacological function on a variety of diseases, but its role in diabetic cognitive dysfunction has not been elucidated. In this study, we carried series studies GLP-1R with daphnetin. rats and PC12 cells, found that daphnetin could alleviate increase the expression level GLP-1R. Additionally, anti-diabetic effect DAP was accompanied by inhibition inflammation oxidative stress. Further in-depth demonstrated enhanced protective daphnetin, whilst, overexpression weakened These results indicated protects diabetes regulating GLP-1R-mediated stress, act as agonist. The study further great value preventing type 2 diabetes, is key potential target for treatment related diseases.

Ophiopogon japonicus (Thunb.) Ker Gawl., is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) with history of thousands years. O. polysaccharides (OJPs), as one the main active ingredient, are kind representative pharmacological bioactive macromolecules and mainly composed Glc Fru molecular weight between 2.48 325 kDa. OJPs have variety biological activities, such hypoglycemic, cardioprotective, immunomodulatory, improvement obesity, renal protective activity. In this review, extraction, purification structural characterization were systematically reviewed, its function, mechanism structure–activity relationship analyzed. Additionally, review summarized found that modifications liposome modification, sulfation polyethylene glycol modification improved activity bioavailability OJPs. Overall, work will help to better understand provide theoretical their further development utilization in field health food.

Natural plant-derived active ingredients have gained increasing attention for their potential in the treatment of depression due to safety and multi-target pharmacological activities. Saikosaponin A (SSA), a major bioactive saponin extracted from Bupleurum (a medicine food homologous plant), has been reported possess anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, antioxidative properties. In this study, we evaluated antidepressant-like effects SSA mouse model chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS)-induced depression. Mice were subjected CUMS, followed by daily administration (20 mg/kg, po 6 weeks). Behavioral tests, including tail suspension test, open field elevated plus maze, marble burying indicated that significantly alleviated depressive-like anxiety-like behaviors. Histopathological analysis H&E staining showed reduced hippocampal neuronal damage induced stress. Biochemical assays revealed normalized levels neurotransmitters (5-HT, DA, 5-HIAA), enhanced antioxidant enzyme activity (SOD, CAT, GSH), suppressed neuroinflammatory cytokine production (TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6). Mechanistically, exerted its antidepressant inhibiting TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway upregulating BDNF expression. PC12 cells, TLR4 overexpression attenuated SSA’s protective effects, whereas silencing cellular resistance corticosterone-induced damage. These findings suggest alleviates CUMS-induced depression-like behaviors mice modulating neuroinflammation oxidative through TLR4/NF-κB/BDNF axis, indicating as functional food-derived therapy

Abstract The study aimed to determine the CCl 4 -induced liver fibrosis model in pinealectomized rats and biochemically, immunohistochemically, histopathologically investigate therapeutic effect of melatonin on fibrosis. surgical procedure for pinealectomy was performed at beginning study, sham were administered dissolved corn oil (1:1) alone every other day induce or together with (10 mg/kg) therapy 15 days. Melatonin is an essential agent offers alternative strategy by suppressing inflammation, oxidative stress, TGF-β1 signaling pathway. Treatment ameliorated restoring hepatocellular damage reducing plasma AST, ALT, ALP values. increases activity SOD CAT, which are important enzymes antioxidant defence, raises GSH levels, further enhances function. Also, reduced hepatic inflammation (IL-6 IL-1β) stress indices. Moreover, histopathological changes immunohistochemical expression restored following supplementation rats. Our shows that has a beneficial protecting induced

Abstract Chemotherapy (CT) is one of the flagship options for treatment cancers worldwide. It involves use cytotoxic anticancer agents to kill or inhibit proliferation cancer cells. However, despite its clinical efficacy, CT triggers side effect toxicities in several organs, which may impact patient’s quality life and outcomes. While toxicity consistent with non-ferroptotic mechanisms involving oxidative stress, inflammation, mitochondrial impairment other aberrant signalling leading apoptosis necroptosis, recent studies show that ferroptosis, a non-apoptotic, iron-dependent cell death pathway, also involved pathophysiology organ toxicity. provokes ferroptosis via system Xc – /GPX-4/GSH/SLC7A11 axis depletion, ferritinophagy, iron overload, lipid peroxidation upregulation ferritin-related proteins. Cisplatin (CP) doxorubicin (DOX) are common drugs indicated induce vitro vivo. Studies have explored natural preventive therapeutic strategies using ginger rhizome major bioactive compounds, 6-gingerol (6G) zingerone (ZG), combat Ginger extract, 6G ZG mitigate dysfunction toxicity, but their effects on CT-induced remain unclear. Systematic investigations are, therefore, needed unfold roles ginger, as they potential prevention This review reveals ferroptotic protective against CT-induced, toxicities.

Background: Aluminum (Al) is a ubiquitous environmental toxicant associated with adverse effect on the testis. Thus, we investigated protective of GER against Al-induced testicular injury and endocrine-sperm deficits in male rats. Methods: Adult rats were randomly divided into 4 groups: Control group, group (100 mg/kg body weight for 28 consecutive days, orally), Al (200 every 3 days ip) + 200 mg/kg). Levels testosterone (T), luteinizing hormone (LH) follicle-stimulating (FSH) measured serum. Testicular parameters oxidative stress, inflammation apoptosis analysed, as well sperm testis histology. Result: The exposure significantly (p less than 0.05) decreased levels T, LH, FSH, IL-4 IL-10, whereas increased apoptotic markers compared to control. induced marked histopathological abrasions caused effects On contrary, co-administration ameliorated deficits, cytokine apoptosis. potential natural monoterpene prevention toxicity dysfunction
