As a subspecies of extracellular vesicles (EVs), exosomes have provided promising results in diagnostic and theranostic applications recent years. The nanometer-sized can be extracted by liquid biopsy from almost all body fluids, making them especially suitable for mainly non-invasive point-of-care (POC) applications. To achieve this, must first separated the respective biofluid. Impurities with similar properties, heterogeneity exosome characteristics, time-related biofouling complicate separation. This practical review presents state-of-the-art methods available separation exosomes. Furthermore, it is shown how new developed. A particular focus lies on fabrication design microfluidic devices using highly selective affinity Due to their compactness, quick analysis time portable form factor, these are particularly deliver fast reliable POC For devices, manufacturing (e.g., laminating, replica molding 3D printing) that use low-cost materials do not require clean rooms presented. Additionally, special flow routes patterns increase contact surfaces, as well residence time, thus improve purification displayed. Finally, various analyses used evaluate newly developed device. Overall, this paper provides toolbox developing

Microbially contaminated food can cause serious health hazards and economic losses, therefore sensitive, rapid, highly specific visual detection is called for. Traditional of microorganisms complex time-consuming, which cannot meet current testing demands. The emergence paper-based biosensors provided an effective method for efficient microorganisms, due to its high speed, all-in-one device, low cost, convenience. This review focused on 5 biomarkers, namely nucleic acids, proteins, lipopolysaccharides, metabolites, the whole microorganism microorganisms. Besides, recognition methods were summed up in forms, including immunological recognition, aptamer acid amplification-mediated DNAzyme clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats mediated recognition. In addition, we summarized applications thoroughly. Through exploration different identification methods, applications, hope provide a reference development their application safeguarding chain.

Abstract The conventional lateral flow assay (LFA) fails to the demands for accurate screening of viruses as a result its low sensitivity colorimetric signal output and poor universality limited by antibody pairs. Here, magnetically assisted dual‐signal LFA platform is developed ultrasensitive, universal, flexible detection viruses. A “three‐in‐one” multifunctional probe (MAuDQD) prepared using 180 nm Fe 3 O 4 core load numerous Au nanoparticles (NPs) two layers QDs, which can substantially improve through coupling with effects magnetic enrichment colorimetric/fluorescent enhancement. Wheat germ agglutinin (WGA)‐modified MAuDQD attained broad‐spectrum capture viral membrane proteins dual‐mode severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2) monkeypox virus (MPXV) on strip. In mode, target detected directly, visual reaching 0.1–0.5 ng mL −1 fluorescent mode supported quantitative analysis SARS‐CoV‐2/MPXV limits decreasing pg level. Practicability MAuDQD@WGA‐LFA verified 33 real clinical samples, showing proposed has great potential become sensitive, accurate, universal tool on‐site monitoring infections.

Paper-based analytical devices (PADs), including lateral flow assays (LFAs), dipstick and microfluidic PADs (μPADs), have a great impact on the healthcare realm environmental monitoring. This is especially evident in developing countries because PADs-based point-of-care testing (POCT) enables to rapidly determine various (bio)chemical analytes miniaturized, cost-effective user-friendly manner. Low sensitivity poor specificity are main bottlenecks associated with PADs, which limit entry of into real-life applications. The application nanomaterials showing improvement their detection performance terms sensitivity, selectivity accuracy since unique physicochemical properties. In this review, research progress nanomaterial-based summarized by highlighting representative recent publications. We mainly focus principles, sensing mechanisms how they work applications disease diagnosis, monitoring food safety management. addition, limitations challenges development discussed, further directions field proposed.
