Trees in cities perform important environmental functions: they produce oxygen, filter pollutants, provide habitat for wildlife, mitigate stormwater runoff, and reduce the effects of climate change, especially terms lowering temperatures converting carbon dioxide from atmosphere into stored carbon. Generally, to increase benefits urban forests, number trees is increased, directly influencing canopy coverage. However, little known about potential modifying species composition tree communities order ecological benefits. Planting managing particularly challenging city centres, where dense, often historic infrastructure buildings roads do not allow a significant greenspace. Estimations cover obtained through i-Tree Canopy analysis unveiled historical areas Polish 15-34% 31–51%. This study models forests cities, focusing on how different compositions can enhance functions such as sequestration pollution filtration. Two main scenarios were analyzed: one involving addition based most common currently planted ("standard option" SO), another incorporating changes ("city specific SCO). Acer platanoides (14.5%) Tilia cordata (11.45%) frequently cities. Betula pendula, Quercus robur, Robinia pseudoacacia, Fraxinus excelsior, pseudoplatanus, Aesculus hippocastanum campestre also forest (up 5%). The diverse range contributes significantly overall potential. results suggest that could rates by 47.8%–114% annually, with option (SCO) being effective enhancing highlights importance strategic selection forestry practices maximize change effects.

Urban tree planting initiatives (TPIs) have become a prominent form of public work that has the potential to increase livability and sustainability cities. However, if not sufficiently resourced thoughtfully planned implemented, these high-profile programs may fail achieve intended goals. To promote successful implementation TPIs, we offer recommendations for pre-planting, installation, post-planting phases. During each phases present five cross-cutting themes: ensuring adequate funding all project phases; cultivating place-based landscape design; engaging investing in communities; implementing sound practices; evaluating performance adapting over time.

This study creates a 0.5 m resolution urban tree canopy (UTC) cover dataset using high-resolution remote sensing images based on the deep learning method to clarify tree-cover characteristics in Brazilian cities. The results revealed that UTC of cities is spatially heterogeneous, ranging from 5% 34%. There was difference coverage between old and new areas, with average largest near 5%. More than 76% population exposure 0∼0.2. Most have relatively high inequality human tree-covered spaces, especially northeastern southeastern Brazil. Results geographical detector models show climatic factors play major role determining patterns cities, followed by socioeconomic, geographical, soil, urbanization factors. suggests government pay more attention greening renovation projects areas formulate effective irrigation policies for limited autumn winter rainfall. also follow-up research consider effects race, history, city structure, land use, local policy further support goals sustainable development

Banjarsari Monument and TMP (Taman Makam Pahlawan) are part of green open spaces Surakarta, which have different environmental conditions functions. The difference the composition types, individuals, infrastructure is an interesting thing to know about each these spaces. Data was collected at GOS Monjari July 2024. Vegetation analysis carried out determine number, type, circumference, height trees poles. Furthermore, calculation Relative Density (RD), Frequency (RF), Dominance (RD) find Important Value Index, addition that Evenness Diversity Index also calculated. research shows there 311 individuals consisting 27 types poles 738 41 TMP.

Abstract Fallen trees are a common phenomenon during the rainy season in Surakarta City. This condition poses threat to urban communities while losing crucial ecosystem services vegetation. The study aims map distribution of fallen and compare them with canoe vegetation coverage as well land use. Analysis was carried out administrative territory limits 2023 until three first month 2024. Data collection uses combination bottom-up top-down approaches. canopy data is estimated from Sentinel 2A image using Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI). A comparison variables (fallen tree, NDVI use) implemented through spatial overlay, regression analysis descriptive analysis. results show that there were 113 cases 2023-three-month period early occur mainly on yards (35.40%) roadside (29.20%). Surveys based showed occurred more frequently very low (32.74%) (31.86%) categories. concludes changes environment pose risk tree falls due reduced supportive capacity. cause ecological loss area because they also parks (12.38%).
