Hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks (HOFs), self-assembled from strategically pre-designed molecular tectons with complementary hydrogen-bonding patterns, are rapidly evolving into a novel and important class of porous materials. In addition to their common features shared other functionalized materials constructed modular building blocks, the intrinsically flexible reversible H-bonding connections endow HOFs straightforward purification procedures, high crystallinity, solution processability, recyclability. These unique advantages have attracted considerable attention across broad range fields, including gas adsorption separation, catalysis, chemical sensing, electrical optical However, relatively weak interactions within can potentially limit stability potential use in further applications. Charge separation plays a crucial role in regulating photochemical properties and therefore warrants consideration designing photocatalysts. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are emerging as promising candidates for heterogeneous photocatalysis due to their structural designability tunability of photon absorption. Herein, we report the design pyrazole-benzothiadiazole-pyrazole organic molecule bearing donor-acceptor-donor conjugated π-system fast charge separation. Further attempts integrate such photosensitizer into MOFs afford more effective photocatalyst (JNU-204). Under visible-light irradiation, three aerobic oxidation reactions involving different oxygenation pathways were achieved on JNU-204. Recycling experiments conducted demonstrate stability reusability JNU-204 robust photocatalyst. Furthermore, illustrate its applications facile synthesis pyrrolo[2,1-a]isoquinoline-containing heterocycles, core skeletons family marine natural products. is an exemplary MOF platform with good absorption, suitable band gap, separation, extraordinary chemical proceeding under irradiation.

Abstract Atmospheric ozone has long been a threat to human health, however, rational design of high-performance O 3 -decomposition catalysts remains challenging. Herein, we demonstrate the great potential series isomorphous bimetallic MOFs denoted as PCN-250(Fe 2 M) (M = Co 2+ , Ni Mn ) in catalytic decomposition. Particularly, Co) showed 100% removal efficiency for continuous air flow containing 1 ppm over wide humidity range (0 ‒ 80% RH) at room temperature. Mechanism studies suggested that high performance originated from introduction open Co(II) sites well its porous structure. Additionally, low pressures around 10 Pa, exhibited adsorption capacities (89 241 mg g −1 most VOCs, which are not only class hazardous pollutants but also precursor . This work opens up new avenue develop advanced purification materials and VOCs one.

As a result of serious pollution in the water environment, sewage disposal has been receiving lot attention from industry. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) attract interest adsorption and separation due to their complex structures easily adjustable pore sizes. Magnetic MOFs inheriting advantages both large surface area easy recovery have great potentials pollutants. This paper reviews recent research progress on ions, dyes other contaminants by different types (magnetic non-magnetic MOFs) magnetic composites (Fe3O4@MOF) aqueous environments. The factors affecting pollutants, thermodynamic kinetic effects are discussed with detailed examples. Finally, challenges opportunities for further development elucidated.

The development of photo-stimuli-responsive luminescent materials is essential to address emerging demands in encryption security. Here, a novel dual-emitting material ZJU-128⊃SP (SP = spiropyran) reported, which obtained by encapsulating spiropyran molecules into cadmium-based metal-organic framework (MOF), [Cd3 (TCPP)2 ]·4DMF·4H2 O (ZJU-128, H4 TCPP 2,3,5,6-tetrakis (4-carboxyphenyl)pyrazine). This MOF/dye composite exhibits blue emission from the ligand ZJU-128 at 447 nm and red around 650 spiropyran. Utilizing photoisomerization ring-closed ring-open form under UV-light irradiation, significant fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) process between achieved. As result, gradually decreased while increases. dynamic fluorescent behavior can fully recover original state following exposure visible light (>405 nm). By taking advantage time-dependent fluorescence, dynamical anti-counterfeiting patterns multiplexed coding are successfully developed based on film. work provides an inspiring point for design information with higher security requirements.

Global climate change ensued by the rise in atmospheric CO2 levels is one of greatest challenges our planet facing today. The rapid detection of antibiotics in agricultural products is great significance. In this work, two stable fluorescent metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), BUT-178 and BUT-179, are synthesized used to detect tetracycline antibiotics. Among them, BUT-179 exhibits better performance the different water eggs. limits toward tetracycline, aureomycin, oxytetracycline, doxycycline all reach nanomolar level. Furthermore, cycling tests confirm that can be easily recovered repeatedly without an obvious loss. This work demonstrates excellent application potential MOFs for food safety, especially fluorescence foods.
