Abstract Solar vapor generation (SVG) garners significant attention as a technology for producing clean water owing to its high efficiency and zero carbon emissions. However, the widespread adoption of SVG is constrained by cost, low mechanical strength, complex fabrication processes current photothermal materials. Lignin coal, abundant in aromatic rings, C═O bonds, quinone structures, present natural advantages enhancing light absorption improving properties This review begins with an overview fundamentals strategies aimed at promoting efficiency. Traditional farming practices are increasingly being replaced with more sustainable approaches, including the development of slow-release fertilizers (SRFs), to mitigate environmental stress and ensure food security for ever-growing global population. Despite rising focus on eco-friendly materials like biopolymers fertilizer coatings, optimizing their hydrophobicity remains a significant challenge. In this context, nanotechnology offers promising route toward achieving sustainability. study, hydrophobic colloidal lignin particles (20–50 nm) were synthesized using straightforward acid precipitation method involving coprecipitation (LGe) sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS). This strategy aimed reduce particle size, enhance stability, increase by incorporating nonpolar SDS alkyl chains onto surface nanomicelles. TEM STEM microscopy confirmed formation core–shell hybrid micelles, which incorporated into cross-linked carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) matrix at various ratios produce series waterborne coating formulations films. The spherical morphology new features, along integration an interpenetrating network, led nanostructured films good (WCA ∼ 106.1°) slow biodegradability in soil. When applied diammonium phosphate (DAP) granular fertilizer, coatings revealed interfacial adhesion, enhanced hardness (2.5-fold), improved water-holding capacity soil (18%). Most importantly, 100 day nutrient leaching study impressive nutrient-release longevity, showing 75% reduction N–P leaching. Subsequently, these SRFs evaluated 6 month wheat (Triticum aestivum)) cultivation trial across different textures, demonstrating substantial enhancements leaf area (150–200%), total root length (160%), biomass production (575%), grain yield (115–264%), quality-related parameters. These findings highlight robust solution addressing deficiencies promoting agricultural practices, especially crops extended growth cycles, while inspiring novel broader applications.

Prenatal exposure to a high-fat diet (HFD) or microplastics can impact liver fat accumulation in offspring. This study investigates the protective effects of prenatal melatonin on injury male pups resulting from maternal HFD and microplastics. Pregnant Sprague-Dawley rats were fed either an normal chow diet, with some groups exposed alone combination melatonin. Male evaluated postnatal day 7. Results indicated that HFD-microplastics group (HFD-Mi) exhibited increased lipid (observed histological staining), apoptosis (elevated cleaved caspase 3, phospho-AKT, TUNEL inflammation (higher IL- 6 TNF-α), oxidative stress malondialdehyde). Conversely, treatment (HFD-Mi + M) significantly reduced these effects, including accumulation, apoptosis, inflammation, while enhancing antioxidant enzyme glutathione peroxidase activity improving metabolism (reduced SREBP- 1 expression). These findings suggest mitigates caused by through its anti-inflammatory, antioxidative, lipid-regulating properties, underscoring potential hepatoprotective role.
