In the past decade, novel nano-engineering protocols have been actively synergized with fluorescence spectroscopic techniques to yield higher intensity from radiating dipoles, through process termed plasmon-enhanced (PEF). Consequently, limit of detection analytes interest has dramatically improvised on account sensitivity rendered by augmented signals. Recently, metallic thin films sustaining surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) creatively hybridized such PEF platforms realize a substantial upsurge in global collection efficiency judicious technology plasmon-coupled emission (SPCE). While parameters and conditions optimum coupling between dipoles SPCE framework extensively discussed, utility disruptive over platform analogous interfaces as ‘ferroplasmon-on-mirror (FPoM)’ well an alternative ‘photonic crystal-coupled (PCCE)’ seldom reviewed. light these observations, this focus review, myriad developed SPCE, FPoM PCCE are succinctly captured, presenting emphasis recently cryosoret nano-assembly for photo-plasmonic hotspot generation (first fourth). An indicator displacement assay for colorimetric and fluorometric dual-mode detection of urinary uric acid (UA) was constructed using a water-soluble naphthalene-based tetralactam macrocycle the phenoxazine dye, resorufin (RF). The visual UA levels volunteers successfully realized modified paper assays, which could be used home monitoring UA.
