The unresolved challenges in the development of highly efficient, stable and controlled synthetic microbial consortia, as well use natural are very attractive for science technology. However, consortia management should be done with knowledge how not only to accelerate but also stop action such "little pots". Moreover, there a lot activity which suppressively controlled. processes, catalyzed by various microorganisms being complex slowed down or completely cancelled, typical environment (biocorrosion, landfill gas accumulation, biodegradation building materials, water sources deterioration etc.), industry (food biotechnological production), medical practice (vaginitis, cystitis, intestinal dysbiosis, etc.). search ways suppress functioning heterogeneous each these areas is relevant. purpose this review summarize general trends studies regarding targets new means influence used. analysis features applied approaches solving main problem confirms possibility obtaining combined effect, selective on individual components consortia. Of particular interest role viruses suppressing different compositions.
