NETmicroplastic in agricultural soil and its impact on soil properties

Abstract Implementing “soil health” means sustainable management of agricultural soils, avoiding toxicities, and sensible use resources to minimize waste. In this context, the plastic in agriculture form products, application polymers additives fertilizers, input through littering tyre wear demands our special attention. Uncertainty open questions relating effects its degradation products such as microplastic (MP) on soil environment, biota, human health partly result from lack robust standardized detection measurement methods. Also, environmental, economic, societal problems around MPs cannot be adequately addressed due coordination among various relevant players initiatives research policy. NETmicroplastic ( www.net-microplastic.eu ) responds need connecting a fragmented & innovation policy landscape by creating community‐supported environment.
