Two helical ligands (L1 and L2) containing a pyridine-2,6-dicarboxamide skeleton were synthesized, the crystal structures indicated racemic configurations with equal amounts of P- M-helicity. Eight one-dimensional coordination polymers (CPs), {[ZnL1Cl2]·2CH3OH}n (1), [HgL1I2]n (2), {[AgL1NO3]·CHCl3}n (3), {[Cd(L1)2Cl2]·2DMF}n (4), {[Co(L1)2Cl2]·2DMF}n (5), {[ZnL2I2]·2DMF·H2O}n (6), [HgL2Cl2]n (7), {[Hg2(L2)2Br4]·2CH3OH}n (8), synthesized from reaction two series transition metal ions. The showed that chiral self-assembly process these resulted in homochiral complexes (CP 1, 3, 6), heterochiral 2, 4, 5, 7), or coexistence 8). gas adsorption/desorption experiments investigated at room temperature, which all CPs exhibited good selective adsorption capacities (24.6–62.5 cm3/g) toward methanol vapor over other gas. Furthermore, CP 6 selected for recyclable experiments, results three can be recycled as adsorbents vapor.

Abstract The Schiff base condensation reaction between precursor diamine N,N'-bis(2-aminophenyl)-pyridine-2,6-dicarboxamide and 1,8-naphthyridine-2-carbaldehyde yielded a racemic compound (LP/LM), which was characterized by 1H/13C NMR, infrared spectroscopy, elemental analysis, single crystal X-ray diffraction. Three complexes, [Hg2LI4] (1), [Hg2LBr4] (2), [Hg2L2Cl4]‧2H2O (3) with different coordination configurations were obtained from the of this HgX2 (X = I, Br, Cl), respectively, their structures geometries determined via diffraction techniques. Both 1 2 exist as dinuclear complexes 1:2 molar ratio L Hg(II), while 3 exists 44-membered metallamacrocycle 1:1 Hg(II). structural diversity these three indicates that counter anions have significant effects on topology. In addition, solid-state luminescence gas adsorption towards methanol vapor at room temperature investigated.

A racemic bispyridyl ligand (L) was synthesized via a Schiff base condensation reaction. Four Cd(II) complexes, {[CdL2Cl2]·2DMF}n (1), [CdLI2]n (2), {[CdL2Br2]·4H2O}n (3), and {[CdL2(H2O)2](NO3)2·2CH3OH·8H2O}n (4), were further characterized based on this ligand. Single-crystal structures show that the coordination-driven assembly of with salts bearing different counteranions can lead to multidimensional coordination polymers heterochiral self-discrimination process. Complex 1 exists as one-dimensional (1D) looped chain polymer, complex 2 1D zigzag polymer. 3 is 2D grid 4 3D framework Furthermore, iodine sorption capacities four complexes investigated in solution n-hexane water well steam. The dye behaviors water, which showed exhibited good adsorption for crystal violet (CV), while had capability toward direct yellow (DY).

Two helical Schiff base compounds (H4TPA and H4TPE) containing a triphenylamine (TPA) or tetraphenylethylene (TPE) scaffold were successfully synthesized characterized. Both H4TPA H4TPE exhibited typical aggregation-induced emission characteristics in the mixed solvent of THF/H2O. The two also showed high selectivity sensitivity for recognition Cu2+ over other ions THF/HEPES (1:4, V/V, pH = 7.4), could be used as turn-off fluorescent probes Cu2+. stoichiometric ratios, association constants, detection limits, dynamic coordination modes with estimated via Job's plots, UV–vis spectra titration, fluorescence well 1H NMR titration. Besides, crystal structure complex obtained from interaction illustrated binding modes, which helped us understand mechanism H4TPE. Moreover, spiked recovery experiments carried out, indicated that can applied to real samples satisfactory recoveries.
