High-polarity iridoids from Radix Scrophulariae (R. Scrophulariae) offer a range of benefits, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antitumour, antibacterial, antiviral, and antiallergic effects. Although previous studies have indicated the potential R. for hyperthyroidism prevention treatment, specific active compounds involved their mechanisms action are not fully understood. This study explored effects high-polarity iridoid glycosides on induced in rats by levothyroxine sodium. The experimental design included control group, model group treated with glycosides. Serum triiodothyronine (T3) thyroxine (T4) levels were quantified using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Transcriptomic proteomic analyses applied to liver samples identify differentially expressed genes proteins. These complemented trend analysis Kyoto Encyclopedia Genes Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analysis. effectiveness key factors was further examined through molecular biology techniques. ELISA results notable increase T3 T4 hyperthyroid rats, which significantly mitigated treatment revealed 6 upregulated downregulated showing marked improvement following treatment. Proteomic changes 30 50 proteins, improvements observed upon PI3K-Akt signalling pathway investigated KEGG Molecular methods verified upregulation Spp1, Thbs1, PI3K, Akt reversed group. that highly polar can modulate Spp1 gene Thbs1 protein via pathway, suggesting therapeutic benefit providing basis drug development targeting this condition.

There is an important role for hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) in liver fibrosis. As it stands, many traditional Chinese medicine formulations can effectively improve fibrosis, whether clinically used or animal studies; however, the efficacy and mechanism of main remain unclear, including peach kernel, which contains numerous phytochemicals with a wide range biological activities. The purpose this study was to investigate kernel's anti-liver fibrosis effects. In study, kernel extracts inhibited lipopolysaccharide (LPS) activation HSC-T6 expression α-smooth muscle actin connective tissue growth factor induced by LPS cells. Furthermore, signal transducers involving protein kinase B mitogen-activated kinase, regulate downstream genes associated inflammation. result, inflammatory responses subsequently LPS-induced transformation activated

Abstract Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is an alarming ailment that leads to severe damage and increases the risk of serious health conditions. The prevalence NAFLD due oxidative stress could be mitigated by plant‐derived antioxidants. This study aims investigate effects syringic acid (SA) on in a high‐fat diet (HFD) rat model. Twenty‐four rats were randomly divided into four groups ( n = 6): normal control, HFD, SA‐administered positive control SA diet. Rats received diet, remaining HFD for 8 weeks. (20 mg/kg b.w.) was orally (gavage) administered Lipid profiles controlled against HFD‐fed p < 0.05). reduced serum aspartate aminotransferase alanine levels 70%–190%. also suppressed pro‐inflammatory cytokines attenuated histopathological immunohistochemical changes rats. reversed suppressing malondialdehyde formation 82% replenished nonenzymatic enzymatic antioxidant activities Gene expressions nuclear factor‐erythroid 2‐related factor/heme oxygenase 1 (Nrf2/HO‐1) elevated SA‐treated Ameliorative induced prominent through reversal inflammation, regulated intrinsic mechanism defense stress, Nrf2/HO‐1 pathway.

The pathogenesis of fatty liver is highly intricate. role the gut-liver axis in development has gained increasing recognition recent years. This study was conducted to explore bile acid signaling and gut barrier liver. A total 100 "Jing Tint 6" laying hens, 56-week-old, were used fed basal diets until 60 weeks age. At end experiment, thirty individuals selected based on degree hepatic steatosis. hens with minimal steatosis (< 5 %) chosen as healthy controls, while those severe (> 33 classified group. Laying controls showed significant differences body weight, index, abdominal fat ratio, feed conversion ratio (FCR), albumin height, Haugh unit, biochemical indexes. results metabolomics revealed a clear separation profiles between group multiple secondary acids decreased group, indicating disordered metabolism. Additionally, mRNA levels farnesoid X receptor (FXR) genes related transport significantly both terminal ileum Moreover, exhibited decreases ileal crypt depth, number goblet cells, expression tight junction-related proteins, alongside increase permeability. Collectively, these findings suggest that acids, suppressed FXR-mediated signaling, impaired intestinal function are potential factors promoting These insights indicate regulating enhancing may become new preventive therapeutic strategies for near future.

Essential oils (EOs) are gaining importance as sustainable food antioxidants, but kinetic data on peroxyl radical trapping missing. Thirteen EOs from 11 botanical species were studied in the inhibited autoxidation of cumene by oxygen-uptake kinetics. Juniperus oxycedrus, Syzygium aromaticum, Thymus vulgaris, Thymbra capitata, Betula alba, Pimenta racemosa, and Satureja montana, containing 23–86% phenolic components gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC–MS) analysis, afforded inhibition rate constants kinh order 104 M–1 s–1 at 30 °C similar to reference butylhydroxytoluene (2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol) (BHT). They matched or outperformed BHT protection olive oil. The Daucus carota Cedrus atlantica with <1% phenols those Apium graveolens Tagetes minuta no phenolics had chain-breaking activity. Key carvacrol, thymol, eugenol, dihydroeugenol, umbelliferone, conyferyl alcohol, o-cresol, m-cresol, p-cresol, 4-allylphenol, 2,3-xylenol, 2,4-xylenol, phenol range 103–104 and, along them, could potentially replace products.
