With the expansion of green products market and worldwide policies strategies directed toward a revolution ecological transition, demand for innovative approaches is always on rise. Among sustainable agricultural approaches, microbial-based are emerging over time as effective feasible alternatives to agrochemicals. However, production, formulation, commercialization some can be challenging. main challenges industrial production processes that ensure quality product its cost market. In context circular economy, solid-state fermentation (SSF) might represent smart approach obtaining valuable from waste by-products. SSF enables growth various microorganisms solid surfaces in absence or near free-flowing water. It practical method used food, pharmaceutical, energy, chemical industries. Nevertheless, application this technology formulations useful agriculture still limited. This review summarizes literature dealing with applications future perspective use agriculture. The survey showed good potential produce biostimulants biopesticides

Agriculture plays a major role on society, especially in developing countries which rely commodity exportation markets. To maintain high crop productivity, the use of agrochemicals was once employed as main strategy, turn affected soil, water, and human health. In order to aid this issue, identifying some alternatives, such implementation biofertilizers inoculants bioinputs modern agriculture, are imperative improve ecosystem quality. Among these bioinputs, few bioproducts have shown good performances, phytohormones (e.g., auxins giberellins), biosurfactants, other enzymes; thus, it is extremely important assure quality feasibility their production biorefinery scenarios. These can be synthesized through fermentation processes utilizing plant biomasses agricultural byproducts carbon sources. sense, increase tecno-economical availability processes, solid-state (SSF) has great potential due its ease operation cost-attractiveness. Therefore, study aims describe substrates used SSF systems for bioinputs; associated hurdles, parameters, conditions selection; most suitable microorganisms; underlying mechanisms molecules soil dynamics. Within context, expected contribute development new biorefineries mitigation environmental impacts.

Solid-state fermentation (SSF) can increase the nutritional quality of low value substrates for insects. In this study, SSF using different fungal species was applied on a hemp waste substrate, and followed by black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) feeding experiment during which 300 were grown 200 g (20.1% DM) substrate 7–9 days depending treatment. Besides assessing BSFL performance parameters, presence cannabinoids, flavonoids, terpenes assessed through process compared among treatments. The results show that growth parameters varied used. Fermenting with Ganoderma lucidum lead to an in dry yield (4.54 g) untreated (2.86 g), likely due enhancing carbon accessibility substrate. Trichoderma reesei increased cannabidiol ∆9-tetrahydrocannabinol mass fractions consequently produced biomass, while decreasing amounts acidic cannabinoids. Both Hypsizygus ulmarius Pleurotus ostreatus effectively removed cannabinoids from This study confirms pre-treating wastes via enhance their and/or reduce bioactive secondary metabolites, offering complementary performances achieving biotechnological goals.

In this research, fungicide tolerance Trichoderma asperellum mutants were used to inspect the fungicidal property by using in vitro techniques combat Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. ciceri (FOC). Among mutants, TraM05 emerged as a promising candidate due its production of both non-volatile organic compounds (nVOCs) and volatile (VOCs) which effectively arrest mycelial growth FOC. The ethyl acetate extract at 400 µg/ml showed complete inhibition pathogen. Furthermore, fraction 5Fr4 from column chromatography gave strongest effect against Liquid mass spectrometry profiling revealed presence antifungal viz. 11-amino-undecanoic acid, dodecanamide, 2-tridecanone, trichodermaerin, 3,5,9-trihydroxyergosta-7,22-dien-6-one, ergosta-7,22-dien-3-ol beta-sitosterol. Additionally, investigation deciphered (phenylethyl alcohol, 2-nonanol, 1-dodecanol, silanodiol dimethyl, á-phellandrene, tridecane, undecane, hexadecane, á-bisabolene, n-hexadecanoic acid) VOCs through two-dimensional gas spectroscopy TraM05.

Integrating plant production with insect farming, termed "entomoponics," involves using waste as a substrate for rearing, while returning frass to fertilise the plants. In this study, vegetative wastes from strawberry (Fragaria x ananassa), and common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris), were incorporated into wheat bran-based rearing yellow mealworms (MW; Tenebrio molitor). The either autoclaved or then fermented fungus Trichoderma reesei, mixed in 50:50 ratio bran. Replacing 50% of bran beans did not significantly affect MW yield, but yield was reduced when left untreated. Incorporating waste, whether treated untreated, increased Ca, K, Fe content MW. compensated regardless pre-treatment, enhanced Mn, Zn, levels produced Plant flavonoids pre-treated accumulate biomass. These findings provide insights partial supplement substrates, potential effects on growth nutritional composition resulting

The continuous increase in biogas production poses the need for innovative applications its by-products. Solid-state fermentation (SSF) has regained attention development of several products because possibility to use low-cost and easily available substrates, such as organic wastes. SSF represents a valuable process agricultural digestate valorization terms enzyme production. In present study, cellulase esterase were produced by Trichoderma asperellum R on digestate-based substrate SSF, with highest obtained activity. After assessing effect light it, was optimized using response surface methodology. influence composition, temperature humidity evaluated two sets data generated based concentration (50% 70% w/w). statistical analyses revealed that these parameters affected only when grew containing 50% w/w digestate. best activity (264.6 mU/mg total protein) achieved following parameters: digestate, fruits, 10% sawdust, 30 °C. current finding substrates makes method presented here sustainable completely circular technology.

The increasing public demand to avoid the use of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers in agricultural production systems, causing serious environmental damages, has challenged industry develop new effective solutions manage control phytopathogens. Biopesticides, particularly microbial-based biopesticides, are a promising alternative with high biodegradability, specificity, suitability for incorporation into integrated pest management practices, low likelihood resistance development, practically no known human health risks. However: expensive methods, narrow action spectra, susceptibility conditions, short shelf life, poor storage stability, legislation registry constraints, general lack knowledge slowing down their adoption. In addition regulatory framework revisions improved training initiatives, preservation thoughtfully designed formulations, field test validations needed offer microbial- nematode-based biopesticides efficacy increased shelf-life. During last several years, substantial advancements biopesticide have been developed. novelty part this review written 2023 is summarize (i) mechanisms beneficial microorganisms used increase crop performance (ii) successful formulation including commercial products biological phytopathogens based on microorganisms, nematode and/or metabolites.

Fermented rice bran (FRB) was evaluated as an alternative protein source to soybean meal (SM) in practical diets for juvenile black tiger shrimp, Penaeus monodon . This feed ingredient tested a feeding trial replace P. at 0% (T0), 12.5% (T12.5), 25% (T25), 37.5% (T37.5), and 50% (T50). Five iso-nitrogenous iso-caloric experimental containing 44% crude were fed groups of shrimp (0.47 ± 0.002 g) randomly assigned twenty 60-l rectangular tanks equipped with recirculating seawater system. Each dietary treatment run 4 replicates, the lasted 50 days. Results show significant improvement weight gain, specific growth rate, efficiency ratio T12.5 T25. Treatments higher levels SM replacement FRB exhibited similar indices those control group. Polynomial regression analysis indicates that optimum is 21.08%. The apparent dry matter digestibility coefficients are 83.05 0.02% 87.20 0.30%, respectively. There no differences whole-body composition (dry matter, protein, lipid, ash) among treatments replacement. data suggest feasible without affecting performance but may promote 21.08%
